Would u please fix the supersu's issue? I flashed u Rom but found that there was no root permission。maybe, update supersu to the new ver can fix the issue.
I would like to upgrade my rooted S5, 4.4.4, to your ROM and I have downloaded the necessary files except the md5. You state 'Download *_fw_bigbot96.tar.md5 to your computer'. Since I'm currently on NI2 Kernel, I assume I would be looking for NI2_fw_bigbot96.tar.md5 but there is no direct download link. I also searched the forum and AdroidFileHost.com and came up empty. I'm obviously doing something wrong so a nod in the right direction would be most appreciated! Thanks!
Uh, they are in the 1st section of the OP. Just read through the whole thing. It's clearly there. Also, be sure to flash JrKrsue's kernels and firmware. Since they don't have the OE1 and up bootloaders. Also, if I'm not mistaken, flash the OG5 versions. Because that's what this ROM is based off of...someone may correct me if I'm mistaken.
Also, go here and follow the steps in Painiac's thread. It's veryknowledgeable and helpful http://xdaforums.com/verizon-galaxy-s5/general/guide-painiacs-essential-guide-to-t3319848
The ROM downloads are in the OP. You have to scroll down some and they're there. I've just press the links and they went to AFHSo after much digging around (no, the downloads section is NOT "clearly there"), I found a link to some downloads that seem to be correct. Use caution, as i'm not a pro here! https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=19304
Which recovery are you using? SS or FF? If using SS to install, go into WIPE, Advance Wipe and select Dalvik Cache, System, Data, Internal Storage and Cache. When that's done, install ROM and the Firmware without Bootloader and THEN be sure you FLASH the LP Kernal before rebooting......from what you posted, you didn't wipe System and Data to say the least......lolAlright, this is driving me nuts!
I returned my S5 to stock, then went through the root process again, as outlined in the first post of this thread. Every time I install the Optimal Rom from the SD card, it says it completed successfully, then reboots to the stock Verizon ROM. I've gone through the process more than a dozen times, i've cleared the cache, Dalvik, and the partition using Titanium Backup Pro, and yet... cannot get OR up and running.
Thoughts? Suggestions? Ideas?
You flash the files through either safestrap or flashfireI used ODIN to install the Kernel, then I used the built in recovery to install the Firmware and OS from SD card.
I've tried every version of the firmware/kernel/OS I could find, and i've gone through the install process more then 50 times; I cannot for the life of me get the new OS to run!
Could someone tell me what versions they're running for the Kernel, Firmware, and OS?
I have and do read and search to learn as well....if coming from a CM/ASOP ROM you need to do a complete wipe, which in SS/TWRP you go to Wipe/Advance Wipe and select all but external storage. I usually do this twice. As far as the "Combination Firmware" files, you'd best stay away from that unless you know what you're dealing with...a lot of VZW S5 users have gotten in a mess by flashing the Combination files not knowing what exactly they are for....so if you have an unlocked bootloader as you said, and if you haven't "officially" updated your bootloader. Odin the NCG tar and Towleroot...use the files from this thread
1. Download and install NI2Flasher.apk
2. Download and copy G900V_*_Stock_KERNEL_SafeStrap-Flashable.zip to sdcard.
3. Run NI2Flasher and select flash.
4. Grant root access for NI2flasher
5. After the app flashes the NI2 kernel tap the reboot button.
----This will reboot your device directly to Safestrap.
6. BACKUP YOUR CURRENT ROM!!!
7. Flash OptimalROM_*_BigBot96.zip
7. Do NOT forget to flash the G900V_*_Stock_KERNEL_SafeStrap-Flashable.zip afterwards.
----If you do forget you can always select recovery at the Safestrap splash screen.
8. Reboot system after flashing kernel
9. For extra toggles and FLASHLIGHT toggle: flash OR_Extra_toggles.zip located in the downloads section below.
No, I am not the app developer. No, I do not work for BigTinCan. I'm just a user who has had great success with this app since my old Optimus V days.
