You can't flash cooked ROMs (6.1,6.5),because it needs SPL 2.XX,yours has SPL 3.08.

I have SPL 3.08.001. But I can flash all custom ROMs.
2 unforgetable0708: did you install EnableRapi.cab and Cert_SPCS.cab before upgradeing to wm6.1 or wm6.5?

Hasn't the bootloader code ended with 0001 or 0000?
I think all of you have one 0 missing in your posts. Or am I wrong?

Just flash back to WM5 and then to 6.5 again.
I have a G4 here too and for me only every second installation works. (That is why I'm pissed of cooking). So just retry it.

tried couple of time installing ur ROM but still unable install WM6.5 onto my Charmer.
ipl/spl is 3.08.0001, please suggest someting else and advice whether we can install any English charmer 6.5 rom on charmer with above IPL/SPL.

In my case,SPL downgrade was the only solution,but I don't recommend it,it's pretty risky.

If you take the risk and try this,do it on your own responsibility!
And if I was you I would start with making Goldcard,just in case.I have another working Charmer at hand,so in case of trouble I can make Goldcard easily,but if you have only one device,you can't do that.

I have the 3.08 SPL too and I was always able to install WM6.5. I have seen some flashing tests failing for me and reflashing with the exactly same nb worked at the second try. So just retry it it may help.

My Charmer was CID locked and had 3.08.
WM6.5 upgrade didn't work or upgrade process was successful,but after restart I got the old OS. (I was able to flash german and english official ROMs with NOID upgrader,with 3.08 SPL only,of course)
Maybe unforgetable0708 has a CID locked device too,that's why he can't upgrade.

Mine is locked too. I never unlocked it cause it came with 2.x SPL, but I'm able to flash most of the time. Getting the old OS is mostly a problem of wrong itsutils.dll (Or however it was called) and can be caused by the cabs installed first.
So if you are using Windows Vista or 7 you may get that problem cause the cabs may not be installed.

I have 2 Charmers.One was CID unlocked and SPL 2.xx.I could use any ROM on it.The other one had SPL 3.08 and CID lock.
I use XP on my PCs.On the same PC,same ROM didn't work with the other Charmer (not even with Goldcard!).I don't know the reason why it didn't work for me and why it works on your Charmer.I had to downgrade mine to be able to install cooked ROMs,it was the only solution that worked for me.

Ok taht is one of the things I never understood. I was never able to get the differences betwen the Charmers. For examlpe: Some get the format failed error after 2nd flashing and I wasn't even able to force it also I tried very hard.
There seem to be some differences in the IPLs and SPLs of different Charmers of the same revision.
The strangest thing I ever saw was, that I was able to kill the IPL of a Charmer, while trying to cause the format failed error. And the strangest thing was that the device is still booting. You just simply can't get into bootloader mode or hardreset.
So that shows me that a little base is the same but that the rest differs from device to device.

I may check that sh*t more detailed in some days. Maybe we'll learn more about the IPL/SPL structure then.
