EDIT:

No idea why a root adb shell wasn't working, but doing it manually from the phone did the trick. Will have to try this with some of the other stock apps that are being a pain.

thanks for the download

cheers, =)

Did you remove both LiveWallpapers.apk and LiveWallpapers.odex?

Just trying to figure this out, since I've managed to replace the TW Calendar and messaging apps with stock apps without issue, but no matter what I try with LWP (nexus stock, CM5.0.8, i9000, etc.) I can't get any but the defaults to work.

cheers
Doesn't work for me either. I followed the instructions exactly, but no galaxy wallpaper.

Anyone else get this to work? I tried with Root Explorer and Terminal. The file is in the system/app folder, but the wp's aren't showing up. I also tried renaming the file because for some reason it shows up as ._LiveWallpapers.apk.
LiveWallpapers.apk doesn't work either. Any ideas?

Before you run the commands in the terminal, you first need to type "su" then the return key. You will then be asked to give superuser permissions to this app. Click the yes button, THEN run the commands.

I had actually done that. The file moved, its just not installing? Root manager says parsing error when I try to install from there.

it worked for me. but my root explorer showed me a different file path to the .apk file from the one provided.

my root explorer path looked as follows:
/sdcard/sd/LiveWallpaper.apk

i just use this and replaced it the path on the last line of the provided code.

you may have to use the path in your code that the root explorer indicated. to find out, just use the search function within root explorer and type in livewallpapers.apk within the sd card and copy what the file path says when it comes up.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I'm still not getting it. Ultimately what's the path that this file needs to be for it to work? Also what's the difference from moving the file with root explorer than moving it with terminal?
