This section is for people developing for android. There is a General section for things like this.

Samsung develops for Android too... so a new firmware is just a new rom that has been made by samsung. Just because it's made by samsung, doesn't mean its not Android Development.

Although this post is bad, it's not even for the SGS! Try make sure you have the correct device!

Could it be:
Code:
  <Device>
    <ModelName      value="GT-P1000"/>
    <BaseModelName  value="GT-P1000"/>
    <ProjectName  value="P1"/>
    <FriendlyName  value="P1"/>
    <ProductLineup value="HHP"/>
    <OS value="Android" />
    <TargetMarket value= "Europe" />
    <Platform value="Android" lab="GALAB"/>
    <Language value= "English" />
    <LCD>
      <Type value="XGA"/>
      <Width  value="600"/>
      <Height value="1024"/>
      <Color value="16777216"/>
    </LCD>

If that's right then the info Samsung-Firmwares.com lists here is wrong. They claim 480x800, which seems rather bizarre to me considering it's the same resolution as the phone, only blown up to 7"

1024x600 would be much better, but I want the thing to be a larger form factor (9-10") even more.

Taken from the firmware release (Device.XML).

I know I've read somewhere before that claims the tablet to be 1024*600, so I do not trust samsung-firmwares in this regard.

Damn I wish we got some new froyo firmware, this lack of flashing makes me antsy. I hope we get something before September.

Neither do I. It makes no sense for them to blow that resolution up to 7'' and the firmware notes point to something completely different.

You are definitely right! I decompiled some stuff from the tab firmware and in some layout files from some applications, I see definitions like
Code:
<FrameLayout android:layout_width="600.0px" android:layout_height="1024.0px"
also, I've seen several background pictures with a 1024*600 size
