Default tether

has anyone confirmed tether for free after root?

Had no problem with barnacle wifi tether legacy, although it took much longer to get the connection running then my old droid with cm6 on it.

What version of wifi tether did you install?
And did you need to install any other files (i.e. WirelessTetherHelper or fw_bcm4329_ap.bin)?

I have tried a few different version or wireless tether for root and No Joy so far.

2.0.5 pre7, and I do have the 4329 bin file on my card as well.

but i have to be rooted right? im not rooted yet..kinda waiting for the "one click root"...

That did it!

Now if i can figureout how to replace the stock Email.apk with one that supports multiple Exchange accounts I will be set.

Confirming that wireless_tether_2_0_5-pre9.apk from Google Code works for me without having to install any additional files. This does require root to work.

The version listed in the Market does not work.
