Default Remove zoom controls in browser

There was a setting on my G1 that allowed me to remove the zoom controls from the browser. Since the G2 has good multitouch, I have yet to use those controls. Its just taking up screen estate now. Is there any way to remove it?

Yeah. It's custom. I've only seen it on froyo since cm6. Firefox for Android went beta in the market. Anyone using that?

It's been around since RC33, ever since Luke Hutchinson got pinch-to-zoom hack working. Only on rooted phones though.

It's gotten better than it was, but it's stilll not nearly as fast as the stock browser (which is a shame - I really want to use Firefox Sync).
