This process worked flawlessly. Used universal androot to achieve root then the rest is history.

Nope latest Nordic Firmware is Eclair 2.1 (2.0.A.0.504)
If you don't get a Update available, you're probably not on Nordic Combined (B) Firmware, probably another region.

So just follow my guide to get the Update.

This will only work for X10i (Note Mini or Mini Pro is NOT a X10i) that is rooted!
You need to have Root Explorer installed

Edit you current system/default.prop file with Root Explorer.

Go in your system folder, press the Mount R/W button in the top right corner.
Long press the default.prop file > Open in Text Editor

Replace the digits (XXXX-XXXX) in these 2 lines:

Code:
ro.semc.version.cust=XXXX-XXXX
ro.product.name=X10_XXXX-XXXX
With the Nordic Combined (B) digits wich is:

Code:
X10i CUST-NBC GENERIC 1234-8465
Save & Exit.

Reboot your phone and use SEUS to re-install your phone to 2.1.
Voila, you should now be on 2.1

Thank you very much for this....I finally got it working in 2 minutes after I;ve struggled for more than 4-5 hours with others methods...i wante cause i haven;t seen your post, but nevertheless, better later than never.
Thanks again, this method was easy and straight forward.
Now I have android 2.1 and it's great.

Unhappy
Hi to all ,I have a problem concerning my x10i(rooted) because I'm dumb .I tried to edit de default.prop file to debrand it to nordic so I could update it to 2.1 ,the problem is that I acidentaly deleted the default.prop file from the \system folder and now most of things,like timescape and browser, dont 't work(timescape for exemple tells me that it only work on an sony ericsson phone) .I've
tried to repair it using SEUS but when it gets to the part of turning the phone on while pressing the delete key it tells me that's not possible .I would like to ask if someone can give me a help on how to solve this issue ,I have a copy of the DEFAUL.PROP file but I can't copy it to the \system folder,I've tried to copy it using root explorer(I have R\W permisons on) but altouhgt it doesn´t give me any error the file isn't copy to the folder,using the move option doesn't work also I've tried several file managers like Astrofile ,rootexplores ,filexpert and I can't copy the file to where I want it .Can anyone give me clue on how can I resolve this .Do I need to flash my firmware or is any other way to fix this thing that I've done.On the info menu it says that I have R2BA023 compilation ;2.6.29-rel Kernel ;1.6 firmware and on the model tab it says "Unknown".
Sorry for my English but I'm mad with myself for doing

this thing to my 2 weeks X10 ,if more info is nedeed please tell me.

Edmech

PS: Do not try to Watch the motogp race and work on X10 at the same time )
