Just so everyone knows:

Barnacle wifi there works on CM 6.0 w/ 768 oc kernel.

You have to mess with the settings a bit, and your gps / geo location and (duh) wifi must be off.

See the Cyan 6.0 thread for more details.

After flashing any dopio kernel the thether no longer works (I have tried 2_0_5 pre3, 7 and 8).
I have been using the #TeamFenix 1.7.1 since it was dropped and have used the Dopio OC kernels even the 960 tester without having my wi-fi tether breaking. am currently using 2_0_5 pre3 test 3 without issue.

I know the 1.8 doesn't work with wifi tether.. so keep that 1.7

Just downloaded and flashed chromatic slide v1.4 and love it but it is a build off of a cyanogen base and has the same reboot problem, I'm kinda new at this and was wondering if you can flash just the updated kernel or if it has to be rebuilt around it? If you can just flash the updated kernel does anybody know of a place to download it, or a rom that the wifi works on?

yes you can flash just the updated kernel. I'm not sure about TeamFenix 2.0 since I haven't had a chance to try it out, but I know version 1.7.1 has working wi-fi and wi-fi tether. you can find the links and more info for both the ROM and the working OC kernel in my sig.

not to be a dick but next try scanning the thread titles or using search. some of the "old timers" on here aren't real forgiving

Well, first thing I would do is flash CM6.1rc3 and the latest Google Apps [10/20] as it contains a significant number of updates. Then I would download the latest version of Wifi tether and replace test3 as it doesn't work on CM6.

That should do it.

I am currently using the pre14 build of Wifi tether on CM6.1RC3 and it works. Install, reboot and enjoy a tether that actually works with a Mac.
