Are you sure you are loged in as root? Maybe your /system is mounted as Read Only. Try to execute the same steps here:

Hope I can get help.. thankful for response. /Mattefacit

Did you partition your new SD CARD as stated on step 2? Please run a 'mount' command and post the result back here.

I need more info to help you out. Please describe in details which steps are failing and what errors you are getting.

About the guide, I'm glad you like it. In fact it is a step by step tutorial, but the proccess is completely manual, that is why I warned about the need of some linux experience. I know it's not easy and I will try to help everyone as best as I can.

At some extent, yes, it is just like that. To be more precise, the .apk file will get installed in /system/sd, which is your mounted sdcard partition. However, when you install an application on android, some files are installed into the /data/data folder, which is not covered by my guide. If you want to move /data/data folder to the sdcard partition you will need to:
1 - Create 'data' folder into /system/sd
2 - Copy everything into /data/data to /system/sd/data
3 - Edit /system/etc/init-sd2.sh to add the following command:
mount -o bind /system/sd/data /data/data 1>>$MYLOG 2>>$MYLOG
4 - Reboot your phone
