The first releases will probably have a few issues, but I believe, if they are not solved until then, they will when the n1 gets the update or the source is released.

The N1 ROM will be the first to get the update on XDA, not an OTA update but the dev is working on it now. It's on the front page of HD2 Android Development, ROM is by tytung.

If any developer, (or just any person in general) needs the extracted system.img from android 2.3, I have it right here

    http://www.mediafire.com/?0acuwtkc6kuw3zv

Have fun! I know infinitybiff is. :)

EDIT: I initially posted this in the android general section, but now realize it was a stupid idea.
EDIT 2: Just to avoid confusion, this is not a rom, this is just the sdk dump. I merely got the sdk, then used unyaffs to extract the system.img
EDIT 3: If any developer uses this and makes a rom for us, it would be nice if I could see my name somewhere in the credits for extracting this. But its just a wish. You dont have to if you dont want to.
EDIT 4: This thread just made the XDA portal front page! (Well, Darkstones post did, but thats good enough!) http://www.xda-developers.com/android/hd2-running-on-gingerbread/
And this thread also made it onto pocketnow and other android centric websites too! Awesome! http://pocketnow.com/android/gingerbread-ported-to-htc-hd2

Like I said in other threads, I won't be updating/releasing builds anymore due to time constraints. So I'll share the change,

basically @ mjeeday, phiredrop, motoman, others who want to make the build work...

    UR DOIN IT RONG

    Replace init.rc with this: http://pastebin.com/EDcJGVtk

Then your builds should boot. Please give thanks if you use this!
