Default RAS Password delete on authentication failure

If the data connection to CDMA fails for any reason (like low coverage) a message pops up "the username or password is wrong...." and the default RAS connection password gets deleted. This is a pain because the password is correct but needs to be entered again.

Does anyone know if there is a registry tweak that will stop the password being deleted?

I've had this happen to me as well in different forms. What I have found is that even after re-entering the password, it doesn't always re-connect smoothly. So I usually end up having to do a soft-reset anyways.
