Does anyone know if MHL has been incorporated into any custom ROMs? I have an MHL cable and an allshare cast dongle - neither work and I want to display on-device videos on my telly.

Not sure but i think the n4 running cm 10 worked with allshare, it might do the same on the n5 running cm11

Nope, sorry, simply not compatible.
The pin-out mapping and the data transferred over the pins are different and the adapters are not "clever" enough to switch them.
