s1tool. doesn't detect.

hy dudes,
I am looking at the procedure for BL unlock on my X10i.
It seems that now it sholdn't be too hard using FlashTool 0.6.6.0. OK. But as my X10 is second handed, I am not positive that it never had a sim unlock proceedure. I sure did try using the code from the operator, it is still locked. However I can't tell for sure that anything else was never tried.
So to be on the safe side, I tried to run the s1tool. In fact I have been trying all morning, but never got my phone detected.
I use WinXP, I have installed the SE PC companion and made the phone detected. Then I turned off the phone, unpluged it, start s1tool. and press identify and finally holding the back button (phone off) plugged the phone in usb. I waited up to 252 seconds but nothing happens.
Can it be that long (8°) ?
Thanks for your help.

here is the best way to go about entering flash mode, open the flash tool app, have your phone connected with the battery out, run the flash you want and wait for it to prompt you the connect your phone, hold the back button and insert the battery and hold the back button till the light turns green

Hi Guys,

Could anyone give me some advise?
I was trying to install new kernel to try out a different ROM. I've recently updated to flashtool 0.6.7. and since them I can not work out how to flash .ftf kernel files. When I use the flash button the tool only recognises the .ftf firmwares fiels but not the .ftf kernels.
I see there is a Kernel flashing option but I can't work out how to flash desire kernels through it as well, so I'm pretty much stuck to one ROM at the moment :/
I've tried to re-install the flashtool, I've also tried some previous releases and got the same result. I've never got this problem before so I'm a bit freaked out.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I've tried to get through and read as many of the 86 pages as possible, but will following your instructions take an AT&T branded X10 on 2.1 to Gingerbread?

I apologize in advance if the information is there. I've read the full instructions and it isn't clear (enough for me in my infinite retartedness to understand).

    RECOGNIZING YOUR PHONE

Download the latest version of Flashtool from here: http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/ thanks to Androxyde & Bin4ry

Install Flashtool exe file and the update file if needed.

The first and most important thing is to be sure that Flashtool recognizes your phone:

    • Start Flashtool
    • Connect the phone with the computer via USB cabel
    • Wait till flashtool shows that your device is recognized. You will see your phone model on "Connected device:"

    01_x10_Detected.PNG

If you see in “Connected device” the name of your phone model you are good to go for next steps.

If your phone is not recognized by Flashtool that means you don’t have the required drivers installed.

    • Open folder /Flashtool/drivers and install ggsetup-2.2.0.11

If after the above Flashtool still doesn’t recognize your phone, do the following:

    • From Flashtool/drivers folder extract the zip file XXX_ADB_driver which corresponds to your phone model
    • Open “Device manager” on the computer and find the device which is with an exclamation mark on it (do this with connected to the computer phone)
    • Right click on the device and choose Uptade driver
    • Choose to find the driver manually and browse to the folder where you’ve extracted the zip file.
    • That should install the required drivers on your computer.
