Sensation with ICS on March 1st + Evo 3D OTA Time Frame Wager Thread!

Check it out guys. The sensation will be launching in White and with ICS in Europe on March 1st! This is either a sign that we are getting close to an OTA for ICS or it will be some nice help to our great devs who are working on this! I'm sure an official build would be more helpful than the leaks they have gotten, could be wrong though. Hopefully it just means that we will have ICS sometime this month. I mean with a phone that similar to ours hitting the market with it, should be good news!

EDIT1: It seems that this thread has sparked the debate of when we will get an Official ICS OTA from Sprint. There are some who say it will be on or before April 30, 2012 and some say it will be on or after June 1, 2012. Which do you all think?

The losers of the wager have to apply "I'm a *****" to their signature for an amount of time yet to be determined. I will update here when a length of time is decided on.

Edit 3: If the OTA comes ANYTIME in May, EVERYONE has to apply the signature for 1 month!

This change is due to all the events coming up shortly after this date. We don't want people jumping in on the bet who have
an unfair advantage.

If that is launching in March I cant see them rolling an OTA to the current Sensations till AFTER that device is launched. not smart business really if they roll OTA before it.
Also feel pretty confident that the Sensation will get their OTA before we will. Wanna say most that ive read leads to believe the Sensation will be one of the first to get it with Evo3D in the same group but they always mention the Sensation first.

Hopefully thats wrong though, as I'd love to see ICS OTA this month!!

regardless hopefully they spill some more detailed info on the rollout schedule at MWC later this month. I deff dont expect it before that, as thats where they are showing off the new Sense.

I agree that they probably won't roll out the OTA before this launches. However, I dont think that this phone having ICS at the same time as other Sensations would really hurt sales. I guess it could, I just don't see why. If people want a white one, people will buy it. If people want a black one, they'll buy that. That's just my look at it though.

I also agree that the Sensation will get the OTA before us. I think it will mainly be because of the little extra work they have to do with the 3D drivers and such. However, if they delay the OTA for the Sensation because of this phone coming out, maybe we will get it first because we don't have any new 3D's launching.

I guess, in the end, it could really go either way.

June/July is Middle of the year NOT first of the year like they stated. sorry you will be proven wrong.

end of April is the absolute latest it will happen. most likely sometime in march though.

Did anyone notice that the OP said "European?" That's probably not going to help us very much at all. Maybe the GSM version of the EVO 3D, but not people like me with Sprint. I am almost certain that Sprint won't drop this until late March, and I'll be due for an upgrade less than 3 months after that. I'm not holding my breath for ICS on the EVO 3D, cause I'll be looking towards the next big thing to show up at MWC this year.

Just because it's GSM, doesn't mean it can't help us. Major difference is radio. Hardware is still extremely similar.

False. The GSM Evo 3D and CDMA Evo 3D are very different. Gsm is gsm. Cdma is cdma.

They are very different. While the hardware may be "similar," porting GSM to CDMA and vice versa, it's definitely a challenge.

I want to believe Sgt Slaughter but given HTC's track record with the Hero getting Eclair and EVO getting official GB, I think Knowledge is right, June or July for us. Where's that gawd damn leak!?

The EVO is different though. They held back because the evo3d was being released then. There's no sprint phone in that time frame this time of first of yr.

Now is different and they stated first of year also unlike the evo4g.

June and July are middle of year.

When its no later than end of April I expect all the doubters to own up as i will if some random reason its not.
