Does reducing the speed from 1G to 800MHz make a significant difference to your battery life?

Yes, if you use the phone a lot.

Sent from my Galaxy S running Slim ICS 3.6 and Semaphore kernel from my XDA Premium app.

Wrong forum, mate. This is i9000, not i9100.

Hey

I am really liking this kernel, it makes the phone very responsive and also battery friendly. However, there is a little annoyance I am having; After using the kernel for 5 hours or so, I noticed this problem. If the recent apps list gets populated with more than 4 apps, the backgorund of the recent apps list stopped becoming dark. It becomes transparent and when swiping applications for closure, the background becomes dark for a split second and then again becomes transparent. Also, some apps transitioning animation also starts looking choppy.

Do you know why that is? I am using Infinitum ROM.

Why exactly is it happening with only Semaphore and not any other kernel?

Couldn't tell you. But I'm on semaphore and don't have that issue. So the kernel doesn't change the background in recent apps program. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Why would a kernel change the background of anything?

It's a ROM issue. For sure. Are you positive that it doesn't happen in any other kernel?
