Now that I have root on my S5, I'm dying to get this done. I just used Xposed to do the trick, but that seems like a lot of bloat for something I used to be able to do on my S3 with a patch over adb. Does anyone have a working solution for this?

Thanks!

I just posted the same question in the Q&A forum. I can't even get the Xposed to work. How did you do it? Can you use fingerprint to unlock now?

My steps were:
Apply towelroot (reboot)
Apply SuperSu patch from link in verizon thread (reboot)
Clear all email accounts and clear app data
Download/Install xposed (reboot)
Install xposed framework (reboot)
Search for email patch in xposed modules, then install/apply module (reboot)
Open email, add account
When it came to security screen the app crashed
Load app again, works perfectly fine now.

That worked for me. I think that I missed the reboot after installing the Xposed module. While there should be an easier way, at least this works.

Just my opinion, it doesn't get too much easier than this:good:. The small issues would be nice to have resolved though.
