Just to be clear, in my case, it wasn't random. I saw a reboot very consistently, shortly after an app was installed or updated from the Market. Didn't matter which app, the act of installing an app, any app, resulted in the reboot.If you guys are experiencing random reboots try removing your sd card. Use without it to see if that fixes your problem.
And the sd-card is fine. I had the same issue with a class 4 Transcend 32G sd-card and also with a brand-new class 10 Samsung card.
In my case, logcat showed a watchdog thread killing the system process, and that got me to do a Google search about the watchdog, which led to articles explaining that the watchdog thread sends messages to apps, and if they don't respond within a minute, the watchdog assumes that there is a deadlock and kills the system_server process.

Based on that, I went looking for running background processes, and removed apps one-by-one to find which ones were causing problems...
