[Q] Going on a long train ride tomorrow, need to preserve battery on my One X.
Hey guys, I'm going to Amsterdam tomorrow by train and seeing how the trains don't have any electrical sockets I won't able to charge.
I'll probably have to use wifi/data every once in a while to check my WhatsApp messages and I'd like to listen to music.
Except for turning off my phone, is there anything I can do?
I am on Android Revolution (latest) right now and even though the battery is pretty good I feel that it could do better with a different ROM or a kernel. Problem is I don't know nothing at all about kernels... could anyone please explain to me in layman terms? I'd really appreciate it.
I actually did play around with a few kernels before and even managed to repack something following a guide but even though I knew most things about flashing and editing ROMs I don't know anything about the kernels and the modules and such.
Also, what other things are there one can do? I know I can disable some apps I don't use in the settings, I also know about disallowing some apps from accessing the Internet with a firewall, which I think preserves some battery too, right?
Anything more? I'd really appreciate the help!
