ROM simply works - no sudden crashes or freezes.
For some reason, on my car's BT handsfree, answering and ending the phone calls using the handsfree hardware buttons doesn't work.

Odexing: observations

After numerous trying I came to the conclusion best odexing is the OEM odexing, second best is the self odexing that keeps orientation on the apk's and jar's odexed by factory FTF where a particular ROM originates from.
It does not provide any benefit odexing (preloading) each and every app that is in system/app. Smaller apk's which are used at boot-up time, or are used on/off frequently are most effective odexed. Bigger apks are not useful to preload, I think doing so disturbs and degrades efficiency of virtual memory management. Dito for programs that sit in memory always anyway, an example is the home screen (launcher).

Odexer scripts odex everything in system/apps.

Looking forwart to v3 based on new FW 9.2.A.2.5! :)

yeah...if i have the time in one or two months - from what i have read .5 is more of a downgrade than upgrade especially performancewise and battery life. From our discussions here we have learned that 4.1.2 probably has the best chances to serve well on our devices...so debloating this is my priority.

New, 2.5 boots up with abt 380 - 390 mb in RAM. But then there are a few outdated (smaller) apps installed, which will update themselves soon. Woha, now we are back to 470 - 480.

May be .210 is an attempt to reduce system requirements, and power usage. The result (for me) was the somewhat laggy return from sleep and GPS, as examples. 2.5 does not show this for me here, but then, it's so far the worst battery usage from all fresh installed ROM's I lately had. So far is also not operating really smooth.
Least I had on my device was 370 megs RAM usage, when there where only 80 megs worth of system/app present, framework folder slightly debloated, and with no user apps. Debloated but with my apps loaded it comes towards 500 mb RAM occupancy, without doing much. I will give it probably another 24 h but if things stay the same I'm off and likely back to the older stuff.

Well, it's nice to have the opportunity to try.

I've tried simple debloating with Sony Jelly Bean, and I started with rooted and deodexed 9.1.A.1.145 from here, deleted most of safe-to-remove apps according to DaRk-L0rD's guide from here and signed it with simple script. Then, with DoomKernel it was good to go.

I've reached 143 apps in my first try, which is for sure a lot more than it's needed, but my knowledge only goes so far. And I have certain requirements which will surely be deleted in your attempt.

Well, doenen, I'll say I'm looking for 4.1.2 in your special version!

And a little note, PhilzRecovery integrated in your v2 had some troubles with flashing old zips - I had to flash different recovery to move on. You can find details here, at section 10-11.

Have a nice trip, doenen! :D

How much average free ram you can get with this rom?

For Xperia V lite JB 4.3 it is abt 360 megs RAM occupancy "fresh". That's really good for 4.3, you would not get that with a stock version.

Mind you, Omni had right after installation abt 410 mb RAM, after adjusting some settings to my preferences, abt 360 mb RAM occupancy, And that with incomparable more functions and personalisation settings.

List of LT25i_9.1.A.1.145 apps

In the meantime (it's summer!) I've created list of all Sony 4.1.2 apps from 9.1.A.1.145 FV. It's available right here. ;)

Any support will be much appreciated, especially in identifying couple strange apps:

system\app\bootinfo.apk
system\app\OemCryptoReceiver.apk
system\app\PrivInit.apk
system\app\SemcWarrantyTime.apk

None of these are needed if I remember correctly - other than that I do not have the adequate Internet access to give proper support right now - I'm in lithuania :)

Sent from my LT25i using XDA Free mobile app

Its hard to find the solution for this. certinstaller.apk maybe depending on other applications I have deleted. As with most of the stuff i deleted I never used certificates, thus i cannot try it out.

also I have switched to Xperia Z1Compact :)

Try This:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.nicola_amatucci.android.certificate_installer&hl=de

Solved this problem by /system/app and set permission to rw r r, then restarting twice. Install the certificate by going through Settings > Security > Install from internal storage > select the sertificate. This installs the sertificate though it forced closed.

Another problem detected :
Playstore error when updating or installing apps with the following message :
Error retrieving information from server[RPC:S-3]
The playstore version is
Google Play Service 5.0.89
Google Play Store 4.9.13
Can you help doenen?

viber issues

Hi all,

I've been having problems with viber on my Xperia V for quite some time. the problem was not big deal since i had the phone as secondary and always used my primary phone for viber calls. now since i've sold my primary phone and eagerly waiting for my new Xperia Z3 Compact, i'm stuck with the V as primary and is killing me.

i've tried several roms and i still can't make Viber calls. the incoming voice drops after several seconds after a good start and people on the other side report crackling sound from my side.

so my question: are Viber calls working with this rom?

please help me with this. i have too many things to install after rom update. nandroid backup/restore brings me too many FC's on various things and i don't prefer it with my Xperia V

thank you all for your help :)

thanks for this answer?

however, i have used the "search" function quite a lot the past several days
as per example, among many results i also ran across these:
https://www.facebook.com/viber/posts/530779026962940
http://forums.androidcentral.com/sony-xperia-z/325036-sony-xperia-z-viber-issues.html
http://support.viber.com/customer/p...udio-issues-with-my-sony-xperia-#.VCUm7_mSxAI

and much more....

as you can see the problem is still there on some devices or mods.

so my question was simple, i just asked if the issue is present with this rom - that's all.

[ROM][MAY12][Ver2] SIMPLE IS PERFECT: XPERiA V LiTE JB 4.3 .210 Stock Based: Fully Debloated, Fully Functional

WELCOME TO THE FIRST RELEASE of XPERiA V LiTE

    SIMPLE IS PERFECT

Fully debloated, Fully functional Stock ROM

Based on "Stock 9.2.A.1.210 official deodex-root&cwm_v1●RELEASED●(11/04)" by steveboss and sk-cz Team. Thank you very much for letting me use your work!!!!

The idea is simple yet unique for xperia V: create a thin, fast, battery saving Stock Based ROM which the user can modify to his own taste. Almost a year ago REVELATION HD was a similar ROM but lacked further support due to the developer turning berserk. On a long biketrip I enjoyed the ease and quickness of a fully functional debloated ROM. Afterwards I spent weeks manually debloating JB 4.3 till i found out which apps you needed to keep for keeping a fully functional SMART phone...

This ROM is not pretty and shiny but thin and smooth. It does what it is supposed to do with minimal ressource consumption. You can mod it (e.g. with xposed or similar) or just enjoy the simplicity. You can install whatever app you maybe missing...

    Features:

    - Based on Stock 9.2.A.1.210 official deodex-root&cwm_v1●RELEASED●(11/04)
    - rooted, included SuperSU
    - included philz Touch recovery
    - some tweaks to init_d
    - spent countless days of trial and error removing bloatware and apps
    - also removed about 20 mb of wallpapers - come on use some own nice pictures :)
    - came down to about 370MB ROM
    - app to SD and titanium backup included
    - also included all apps needed for google integration, framework, playstore etc.
    - use titanium backup to deactivate/remove if you dont need them, for me this belongs to an android SMART phone...

    v1 REV 17.04.2014 https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5QN7px7CmYnZ0l2aF9zZVUycjg/edit?usp=sharing

    Installation

I take NO responsibility of whatsoever may happen to you or your phone! BE SURE TO MAKE AT LEAST 2 (TWO) NANDROID/CWM BACKUPS BEFORE FLASHING. (as one may fail without notice). Also use Titanium Backup if possible!!!

    Important:

There are 2 versions of this ROM one is the flashable ZIP with the very basic version of the ROM. The other one is modified with preinstalled xposed framework, gravity box with tweaks for UI and settings (e.g. datameter in notification bar etc., advanced power menu etc.). Also has Gallery ICS (with Android Sphere CAM) and ES Fileexplorer preinstalled.

I believe backup version of this ROM is the one most people should use. If they want to do all the modding work themselves or those who dont want xposed framework installed they should use the flashable ZIP...

Installation of basic flashable ZIP unlocked bootloader:

    - Download flashable zip
    - reboot into CWM
    - do a full wipe
    - choose and install zip
    - reboot, first reboot will take longer and phone will automatically restart once!
    - for locked bootloader and more information click here

If you cant connect to the internet please google and add your carriers APN data in the "Access Point Names" option located in the "mobile networks" settings...

Installation of enhanced NANDROID Backup using CWM:

    - Download and unpack (!!!) "BACKUP_XPERiA_V_LiTE_V1a_17042014_by_doenen.rar"
    - Copy folder "BACKUP_XPERiA_V_LiTE_V1a_17042014_by_doenen" to /sdcard1/clockwordmod/backup/.
    - reboot your phone to CWM, select back and restore, restore from sdcard1, choose "BACKUP_XPERiA_V_LiTE_V1a_17042014_by_doenen"
    - wait for backup to finish, reboot.
    - try to turn off cwm verification if you receive error.

If you cant connect to the internet please google and add your carriers APN data in the "Access Point Names" option located in the "mobile networks" settings...

    Bugs:

    - none anymore - hopefully :D

    Recommendations and ToDo:

I would like to recommend everyone to use the Backup version or install xposed framework for xperia and use gravity box to modify your UI and shutdown menu (e.g. screenshot, boot recovery etc.) and use bootmanager and maybe android tuner to tweak the system if you know what your doing. If you do not use Gravity Box you will lack a lot of useful features... In further releases i would like to integrate xposed framework in the ROM.

    :fingers-crossed:
    ****CHANGELOG V2****
    :fingers-crossed:

    Removed and tested:
    XperiaLockScreen.apk
    MusicFX.apk
    RecentCallsWidget.apk
    deleted all "overlays"
---> ROM is now about 370MB...

    Restored:
    - GPS (Qualcomm Location provider 1.0 and Fused Location)
    - Setup Helper (seems like its needed for many things, e.g. automatic APN setting, GPS initiation)

Under investigation (maybe removed next in “release v3”):
    - Soundpicker.apk
    - SoundEnhancement.apk
    - SoundRecorder.apk
    - Phonesky.apk (?)

    Other:
    - I kept Titanium backup and ES Fileexplorer – for those who want to can easily uninstall those and use Android Tuner which is (by all its complexicity) certainly the superior tool but only in the pro version.
    - Updated to newest xposed and gravity box
    - as requested: changed notification bar height (can be changed manually in gravity box)
    - SwiqiSettings.apk cannot be removed because that makes videos stutter (probably has something to do with bravia 2 engine)
Requested removal of sounds, ringtones etc. didn’t make any sense to me. As far as I am concerned this ROM is not about the smalled download size but about battery life, speed and RAM usage while keeping maximum functionality. There is no point in deleting these sounds. Although I never use them, maybe some people like them. Same with stamina mode btw, this is an essential and acutally really practical part of a sony smartphone.

I didn’t mod any home.apk for call recording or whatsoever. This maybe done in a later stage of the ROM but can also be done by the user since the ROM is rooted anyways. First I would like to have a fully working, stable release that is high priority... Then…maybe…we can start with the cookies!

If someone would like to... (thanks to carminedev) :
    - bring back bravia engine 2 ** this is the link (just flash the zip file in recovery don't waste time to follow the guide steps ) : bravia engine 2 & music info
    - install stock and updated Sony apps like album**, movies** and wolkman this is the link : Media + Camera addons
    - install THE STOCK RADIO FM this is the link : FM Radio app working without headset
    - use Sony trackID download it from GooglePlay....
** these aps use the sony bravia engine ... I suggest also to "install ICS Gallery {...tested or others}" to enable the wallpaper modify/setting directly from Sony Album Gallery app...

:good::good::good::good: have fun with the rom and pls report back! :good::good::good:

The following smartphone features work fully:

    - wifi, bluetooth, usb tethering
    - usb mass storage and mtp
    - phone speaker
    - headset support

    - SMS, Phone etc.
    - calculator
    - download manager

For the following you will need to install programs (ill suggest my favorite as well):
    - Email (K9mail)
    - Browser (Opera Beta)
    - Gallery (I use gallery ICS but there are various alternatives)
    - Videoplayer (included e.g. in gallery ics)
    - i recommend you also delete XPERIA keyboard and use e.g. SWiFT Key

This is the first release. Please help me make this work perfectly. Please report bugs.

Battery Time and Speed greatly depend on what Apps YOU use and install. Freezing them when not in use does not always work, Facebook (katana) e.g. eats your battery even when frozen! Use ROM Toolbox or Android Tuner (advanced) to modify your CPU settings. E.g. change govenor to ondemand and limit to 384Mhz when screen is turned off ---> Maximum battery. I am happy for any contributions and tips from your side!

    Hey guys!

returned from a nice refreshing tour out in the fresh air...lets get back to work! :)

Steve might be able to give you a hint. His odexed ROM was the most economical in terms of memory management. I did it myself on Revelation and Pure-X, but memory management is not as good. I even toy with the idea going back to his 2.3.

    Finally some remarks and thoughts:

There is really not much left to remove, and some is also a matter of taste. I personally also usually remove:
    - MusicFX.apk
    - RecentCallsWidget.apk
    - SwiqiSettingsService.apk
    - XperiaLockScreen.apk

For those who use Android Tuner, ES is not needed, as well Titanium Backup and move to SD not.

Stamina switches off data and Wifi connections only after 5 - 10 minutes. And it does more than just switching off data connections.

There are more and more apps that only work with the presence of Google Play Services. This applies especially for Calendars, Conversation and map/traffic related apps. Some have a checking routine to verify if there is the latest Google Play Service installed, which is 24 Mb and mainly consists of prying functions and online gaming framework. I personally do only use ROMs and apps that are happy to live on Google Play Services 1.x. That's 1.5 Mb, and no location spies, meta data reporting or online gaming nonsense inlcuded. But completely without Google Play services, that's hard to imagine for me. Does the Calender sync?

thanks for your helpful input peter-k - as always :)
im not sure about memory managment and i think you know more about it than i do. im sure a few tweaks would do the ROM very good, but first i would like to get the whole debloating done. What kinda tweaks are worth a try? im sure steve is busy developing his own pure-xblaster...

TiBackup and ESexplorer are more straight forward, I am sure there are many people if not most who feel overwhelmed by Android Tuner. I will keep it as an option. For those who know how to handle Android Tuner will know how to manually deinstall ES and TiBackup.

I like the hint with the old google services framework, however i dont understand; does or does it not work with the old version!? Especially google maps is very important to most people and I am really trying to keep this ROM functional in most ways. If the question about the calendar sync applies to my ROM - yes mine does sync!

hey doenen really appricate your work and i also liked the way u repiled all the members and can u plz tell me that this version still have camera flickering in low light????

hey rinkulsk; took quite a lot of pictures in lowlight conditions this weekend and i couldnt find any light flickering neither during photos nor while recording a video! give it a try!

    I'm On Cyanogenmod
Is This All I Have To Do :

    Download the ROM
Place the ROM on your SD Card
    Reboot To Recovery
Wipe data , factory reset , cache partition & dalvik cache
    Flash the ROM
    Reboot

    Did I Miss Something ??
Does I Have To Flash Boot.img Or Kernel Or Something First ???

Yes thats exactly how you flash the rom. However I would like to suggest to 1. BACKUP your old ROM!!! (CWM backup) and use the "backup" version of my ROM through the "restore" function of CWM. I promise its better and easier than flashing the ZIP...

    good luck!

Oh damn, I just realized, that GPS is not available location only works with WiFi.... hope you are able to fix this soon.
Enjoy the bike ride... i'll switch back to CM in the meantime.

    Thanks

Yeah. Not working GPS is a mess. I will put some work into it tonight and Im looking forward to fixing and releasing it either tonight or on tuesday. Anyways I will incorporate some more bugfixes and delete some more stuff so stay tuned!

    hi
rom is just for unlocked bootloader? or is for all bootloader?
and it is Much different from the steveboss rom? Except size What are differences?

The rom can be used on both as can be the rom mentioned in the thread above. Cause this is what it is based on. Please follow the instructions!

hi doenen , this rom ROCKS , GOD bless you mate :good:

    if someone would like to...

bring back bravia engine 2 ** this is the link (just flash the zip file in recovery don't waste time to follow the guide steps ) : bravia engine 2 & music info

install stock and updated Sony apps like album**, movies** and wolkman this is the link : Media + Camera addons

install THE STOCK RADIO FM this is the link : FM Radio app working without headset

use Sony trackID download it from GooglePlay....

Could you please explain how to remove "the philz Touch Recovery" ?
One more question , which "sony stock rom apk" should I install to manage original themes.apk ?

thank you for your "zero-problem" work...

** these aps use the sony bravia engine ... I suggest also to "install ICS Gallery {...tested or others}" to enable the wallpaper modify/setting directly from Sony Album Gallery app...

hey! thanks for the approval, im not sure if god will bless me because of this ROM but hey its eastern :D

Thank you even more for making suggestions on where to get the mentioned "apps" i will take these links into the main thread for those who enjoy the sony stuff :)

Concerning your last two questions; why would you like to remove CWM!? There is no point in removing it as it doesnt have any influence on the system and is very handy for backups, updating etc.

And also could you pls explain your question about themes.apk!?

    thanks!

Flashing fails for me. I downloaded the GDrive version of the flashable ZIP.

    E:Error in /tmp/update.zip
    Status 7
    Installation aborted.

I tried with installing from SD and with sideload.

Could you help me with this?

In my year long "flashing career" i have never encountered such problem - could you either try to download again or just use the backup version of the ROM as it is much more straight forward anyways! please report back!

    To everyone else:
Back from the tour, ready to do some work; I will work on the ROM tonight and tomorrow and release a GPS working version with even less bloatware...

People have asked me to include Sony Small apps. I believe those do not belong into this rom. I am, however, thinking about creating a flashable update zip with such apps included. What do you think should be included!?

    greetings!
