[Completed] Next Premium 9 root help

For the love of god will someone show me how to root the device and upgrade the os, this gingerbread is absolute garbage.

I have been trying a guide to no avail. (Jelly Bean on Next Premium 9, with root and Google Play on freaktab)

I cannot get past the "No Found RKAndroid roc usb" and when I try searching this result for the Next Premium 9 all the results I get are for the Next Premium 7.

My friend gave this to me as a gift but it is super useless in its current (android version 2.3.1) condition.

I searched XDA and there's not much on your device. Certainly no ROMs or root methods.

I did find this link, and later in the thread there's a link to somewhere else that could help.
