As for ATT laying the blame on HTC. That is not the case. ATT wanted it locked. Or the Dev tools would work. It was to stem the flow of returns due to people messing up their phones by messing with things they had no understanding about. Can't really blame them. Maybe a good compromise would be if users who choose to unlock the boot loader gave up all rights to a warranty. So you could not return it to ATT. Would you be in a rush then for it to be unlocked? This is where things are gonna lead

Agree. If you dont like it just return and move on w your life. Why keep it just to feel bitter about it? Some are even worse: return it and come back to the forum to bash it. Some people surely have too much time.
Complain is great when you address the issues and then find solutions to them. But complain just for the sake of bashing and trolling is just pathetic.

Sorry guys.
Ordered my Galaxy Nexus today.
I'm willing to downgrade my hardware to support open source, unlocked bootloader, and development. I feel that by not returning this phone - I am playing a part in supporting locked bootloaders.
I will continue to support this movement, update this thread, pester AT&T, and will probably be back should the bootloader be unlocked when my girlfriend needs a phone.
HTC CEO and president Peter Chou promised that all HTC Android devices launched after September 2011 can have their bootloaders unlocked.
Currently this is not the case with the AT&T One X variant.
The only thing they respond to is bad PR and social media harassment. We're passionate about our phones and they should know it.

Awesome job guys! That was fast!
Every little bit helps. The more active we are the faster this will be resolved. I'll be *****ing night and day until it's unlocked.
Yes because this can actually do something... I feel like people only protest because it's popular. More sheeple taking direction from other sheeple.
