[Q] USB Audio ?

I have just bought a Galaxy Note 2. I am ordering the usb cable.
As soon as I get it I will add a review

On the playstore it says that the Note 2 is not supported, but I downloaded the trial version and it works fine with my Note 2 and Zoom H4.
I am running Wanamlite ROM and Note2Core kernel, so I'm not sure if either of those make the Note2 compatible, but if you were interested in the app and were put off by the message saying the Note 2 isn't supported, it would be worthwhile downloading the trial anyway to test with your setup.

Well the Zoom H4 is more than just a DAC.
I tested recording via the inbuilt mics and also the 1/4" audio jacks and recording a live monitoring via the H4 headphone jack all work great.

Bottom line, if you already own a DAC and it's not natively supported by the Note 2, you may as well download the app and give it a shot.
If you don't already own a DAC, then you're better off making sure that the one you buy is natively supported and you don't need a 3rd party app to use it.

Doesn't seem like it.
I don't use/have any, so I downloaded this track

It plays it, but its really slow.
It sounds about half speed. The H4 only can connect at 44.1 or 48khz, so that might be why.

I tried recording at 44.1 and 48khz stereo and mono wav files and it plays back fine for those.

I wouldn't use the H4 just to listen to music, it's pretty big and probably isn't very high spec in terms of playback and headphone amp. It's main attraction is all of the inputs for recording - which means it's actually pretty small for a unit that does all of that

That site wanted me to register, but I downloaded the 16/48 and 24/48 flac files from http://www.eclassical.com/pages/24-bit-faq.html and they played OK on my H4.

As I said, my H4 only supports 44.1 and 48khz, so that is probably why the 96khz files sounds really slow when I try to play them.

In the end, your result will be portable across all Android devices that have USB host enabled and have Android version 3.1+. Moreover, this solution does NOT require root access to the tablet or phone. It is currently the only viable solution that does not require the user to have any know-how of rooting/hacking the device and risk losing warranty in the process."

didnt see any response from developers regarding this issue, seems they r not interested in usb dac after all >_>, if some1 can modify the kernel like what nexus and nook developers did, we might get the other dacs to work.

i really hope that note 2 developers help us in this issue.

Did you directly contact one of those developers, or were you hoping they'd just see this? I'd say pm as many of those originally responsible and see if you can get something going.

New question - Samsung Note II and Fiio E07K problem

Note II GT-N7100 - Android 4.1.2 stock - Kernel 3.0.31 - Fiio E07K - standard OTG cable

When I connect the Fiio to the phone, I get a 'Lock' appearing on Fiio (according to Fiio, it means OK) and the phone says, 'USB connected' and the sound from speakers get muted.
So far so good, BUT!
When I play something, there is no sound from Fiio, and peculiarly , what is being played (music or video) is on fast forward! a 3 minute song finishes in a few seconds.
Of course if I use the Fiio as an amp, I have no problems.
If I connect a USB stick, the phone reads it fine, indicating the OTG cable is good.
Any ideas?

Even though it works with the usb, I would say the problem is the cable.

But it still does not explain why the player goes into fast forward, as soon as the DAC is connected.
