With all the different variations, and their respective how to installs (many with very specific orders) wouldn't be easier to just share nandroids with clearly labeled configs.

There are way too many differences between nandroids to make sure they would work perfectly on everyone's phone. Listing the Configs would be impossible because most users don't even know how their ROMs are configured to begin with...they just flash them and go.
