[Q] Question to Baseband / IMEI / EFS
Quick question in advance:
Is it necessary to have a working baseband for restoring the IMEI?
It doesnít seem to work when I try to restore just the efs-folder.
Baseband is unknown, as well as IMEI and everything else.
yesterday I flashed a few days old nightly build of CM 10.1, when I was on a newer nightly build of 10.2.
Did this from inside the systeminformation under the settings tab in CM.
After rebooting it just looped and didnít stop to do so.
I have CWM as a recovery solution and since I needed to flash a new rom anyway, I also tried to flash TWRP inside CWM.
Though it seemed to work, I still have CWM and not TWRP. Doesnít matter, CWM is good, too.
Then I did a complete wipe and installed Paranoid Android. I noticed that I donít have any signal.
So I did some digging and found, that my IMEI, baseband and almost anything related was unknown.
Since I have made a backup (.img) of my esf folder
a year ago, I tried to restore it.
The restoration always says itís complete, but I baseband, imei etc. is still unknown.
I tried various tools and manual restoration to no avail.
Of course I flashed CM again and had the same problem.
I am not at home so I cannot try to flash something with odin.
This might be the last chance to get it to work..
But then I thought, if itís necessary to have a baseband working, in order to restore esf?
So do I need to install a modem first and then I will be able to restore esf?
