I updated today to 4.04. After reboot i cant use no more phone functions (when i dial a number it says that i'm not registred on network) .
I tryed to open network settings but i had an error message saying that i must insert a simcard.
Any idea to fix this?

I am little bugged by short battery life in ICS (4.0.4) with NoteCore12.5 kernel. While sleeping (wifi off, data off, location off) it sipped 3% in 6 hours which is in par with GB. But when screen is on (when I am actually using phone), battery sips really fast like 1% every 2 minutes. Usage graph shows majority of power consumed by Screen; when using same usage pattern in GB, Android System and Screen used to take equal percentages.
So I toggled Force GPU rendering (Settings -> Developer Options) on and off to see if anything changes, but nothing.
My usual pattern is charge late in the evening. Fully charged before I sleep. 2 to 3% depleted when I wake up, 90% when I head to work. Very light usage at work and when I get home 70%. Heavy use at home and 40% before I plug charger.
Now with ICS, It is 10% when I plug charger. Yes ICS is butter smooth but I can let it go for longer battery life and in few days I may switch back to GB.
i had the same issue with ICS 4.0.3 so reverted back to GB but after i flashed ICS 4.0.4 everything seems to have been fixed. phone going into deep sleep and i'm getting almost 2 days out of 1 charge. i usually have quite a heavy call usage, anywhere from 50 to 80 mins of calls per day add to that the usual emails and facebooks and web surfing... and im usually left with about 40-50% left at 7pm

just make sure you do a clean install (wipe data and cache from a safe GB rom - I repeat GB rom) before flashing ICS 4.0.4 and it should be fine. I am having the same or almost the same battery drain as GB now and couldn't be happier.. i'm using LR2

Safuan,
Did you (or anyone else) find a solution for the SD card problem?
At the moment, I'm unable to access my SD card 99% of the time, which is annoying, because I've transferred a number of apps there and it will be very difficult to recover them if I have to wipe the card and start again.
I actually have the problem that the 'Storage' module in settings hangs / freezes the entire phone when I try to access it and I have a microSD card in there, so there's no way I can mount/unmount the card.
I've even tried with a smaller (8Gb) card that I have tried both formatting on my PC and in my other Android phone (Sony Ericsson Xperia Active) before inserting, with the same result.
When I try to access 'Storage' without a microSD card in the phone, the 'Internal storage' and 'USB storage' both report total space (1.97Gb and 11.08Gb respectively) and available space correctly, though the breakdown of types of files stored (apps, pictures...) stays on 'Calculating' forever (though the phone is fully usable and hasn't frozen).
I'm running stock ICS, rooted with CWM and everything else is working fine. I've searched the forum for solutions, but can't find anything (possibly because the search terms are so common).
Since the 4.0.4 update I now have issues when rebooting the phone where sometimes infact most of the time, certain apps not always the same one's either don't load correctly and are greyed out. It can take sometimes several attempts to reboot before they load correctly. I have lost complete faith in my note due to the emmc bug and issues after 4.0.4 update that could well be cured if I could do a factory reset, but because of the emmc bug I can't even attempt to fix the issues. I know it is still under warranty but this really isn't three-point, and I should not even Bevin this position with a £500 phone I can't even use correctly.

I was having this issue with SD card on ICS 4.0.3. When facing this issue, after reboot, normally I will need to unmount - mount the SD card. All the apps which is installed on SD card will come back on my app drawer.
And for me this is fine, since I hardly reboot my phone. Only if I forgot to charge my phone, and it drains to zero. hahahaha
And the issue was gone on ICS 4.0.4.
But.... from my understanding, CWM app is not very well work on ICS. Therefore, I always disable this app from running in background. And no more heating / freezing.

I think you should try to use other modem.
Some modems are not working on certain provider / network.

Hi jezzat,
Im using 16gb, i had that problem at first. Kinda annoying. But right after 4.0.4 update, the problem solved. But not consistent tho. Sometimes it happen to me again but not as much as before. The only diffs is that im on stock unrooted. Well, i guess u hv to try to unroot ur device and try it again. Im not sure wether it will help. No harm trying.
Mybproblem haven't been addressed in all the reports
after OTA updating via WIFI to ICS 4.0.4 the WIFI hangs whenever i try to put it on can't put it back off just light green and drains the battery
I downgraded to 4.0.3 via odin same problem persist plus multible errors "unfortunatly ........ stoped working" then using kies pc asked me to upgrad again to 4.0.4 which i did the stop massages stops the wifi hanging on light green stopped but didn'tgo on when tring put it on tries for 10 seconds then goes off ???!!!!!
ICS sucks ....any help?
Occasionally, usually about 1 time per day, My phone display will start to flash, with random green and red colors. The screen I'm on, will flash those colors then star to shake and slide.
It looks like a television station not tuned quite right on an analog antenna (if anybody remembers that!)
I can't reproduce it regularly, but It think it has happened when going from an Application, back to the home screen using the home button.
I am on ICS, Taiwan, stock, not rooted.
Anybyody else seen this?
Its called picture salad in xda...xda hv fix for it.
