I searched quickly but didn't find mention here that you MUST use your phone's native dialer app to do this. If you use GO Dialer, or a different phone app, it will most likely not work.

Hope this helps someone out. I found out the hard way ;)

make sure you have at least one empty line at the end of build.prop file !!

Oh yeah, forget the "menu"...adding this line should do the trick by itself.

    Just add the line in build.prop without # in front of ro.ril.fast.dormancy.rule=0 (# in front of a line, makes phone skip that line). It will be disabled if you add the line and reboot, but you still wont be able to reach the menu with the code. :p

    fast dormancy is supposed to increase battery life but when the operator doesnt support it it works the other way around:eek::eek::eek:

    Some users have feedbacked that it increased 3g speeds on other forums and increased battery life, whether or not the provider supports it, or whether they have 3g or not.
    Its not tested on g3 but it should work perfectly on every android phone.

    If you add # before a line on the build.prop the phone will ignore it :p That's why devs used it to label each tweak they do, separate tweaks and add a few notes here and there fore their users.
