Oh, skipping setup isn't a problem, I do that quite often anyway, and then go back and add the account manually later. But even trying to add it manually (settings - accounts - google) would force a wifi connection to setup the google account. And it's something with the ROM, because I even tried with just standard 4.2.2 gapps, and it still did it.
Don't worry, I'll be testing it anyway, probably Sunday. Have Wambo's AOKP running right now. Just going to wait till I'll be at home for a few hours with nothing that I need to get done right away so I can fully set it up before I run it. I always run rom's for 2-3 days before making a judgement about them, unless they are completely unuseable. And I liked vs. 6 but always had issues with the weather info. So planning on giving vs 9 a try.
