Re: [ROM] Intergalactic v2.6 [UCDLK3][2/23/2013]

For some reason I can't fathom, the bundled keyboard isn't showing me voice input button. If I download any other keyboard from market, I can see it. Happened in other ROMs too.

Have you double checked your settings? I haven't had this issue at all but you can choose to remove it or place it on the keyboard from android keyboard settings. That's the only thing I can think of.

I did. I was going through TiBu, and now it suddenly is showing me the mic. Very strange. But well, its showing up now :)

Edit: I had actually installed two keyboards from market, and tried voice on one. Guess that did some behind the scenes work.

Haha it's true you will need some more time. I am actually pretty excited to get your nomination in. Let me know when you think you are eligible and I'll gladly take care of passing it to the senior moderators for you as well as write you a good recommendation. It's the least I can do. I also would not have such a good rom if it weren't for those such as yourself. You, me, loserskater and upndwn4par kind of have the same kind of ideas going on for ROMs. I know we all work together and share our work, but it would be awesome to form a collective rom team one day. With all of our supporters and knowledge, that would surely be a nice piece of work. Maybe one day.

Now that would be a solid team!

Oh this sounds exciting actually...hopefully...you have my fullest attention sir. :)

TBH, updating to this ROM has been good for me until now. I use voice and swype the most... And use the bundled android keyboard. And this one has voice too working in it... :)

Well that doesn't sound good...glad voice is working, but what is the "up until now" issue? I haven't noticed anything yet. What's going on? If it's something bad, I want to work on it and fix it immediately.

Battery Life screenshots - v2.6

I am by far very impressed... Never thought even remotely I'd get this level of battery...

Conditions:

Battery Charge at start: 100%
Battery Charge at end: 2%

Brightness: Auto, 100% of the time
Power save mode: On
Smart Stay: Off

4G LTE: 100% of the time

Wallpaper: 100% colorful (no dark themes, plus the apps I used all had light backgrounds, with the exception of XDA with dark theme. I uninstalled dark gmail, and loaded the regular version from market).

Underclock: Max at 1.02 GHz
Governer: Powersave

Animations: All on, at 0.5 seconds (instead of default 1 second)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Outcome:

Time on battery: 10 hours 42 minutes 0 seconds
Screen on time: 5 hours 11 minutes 2 seconds
Call time: 0 0 0
Lag: None

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Special Thanks: Mr.Wesley for all this hard and selfless work :)

Man, and here you had me ready to start making changes. I thought I failed hard somewhere. lol. Your battery life is insane for what you're doing with the device. You tried really hard to kill the device today didn't you? hah. I'm just happy that there doesn't appear to be an issue and that the new kernel with optimizations is treating you well. Like I said, I'm very very happy with this release. I'm hoping that everyone else is experiencing the same luck that you and I are. :D

Oh and don't worry about it...I was the one who read incorrectly. ;) I'm just relieved that you had such wonderful things to say. Your input is critical to development, as you've been with me for ages and have data to compare.

Yes... Esp cos 0% of the time was spent in songs or videos.. I feel playing them isn't really a real life test... 'cos from my experience, if a phone gives 5 hours on 4G browsing/calls... it would give nearly 7-8 hours in terms of viewing videos. So I literally had to search for ways I keep the phone active like I was doing my day to day tasks.

And now I get this --> Sorry, you are limited to 8 thanks per day

Thanks mate. I'm happy it worked out for you. Here are my results from today. I have been traveling all over the place while visiting my sister for the weekend and I'm still trying hard to kill it. Also, the xda app allows for unlimited thanks. It's been rather useful for me today with all these people to thank for their kind words and support.

I'm still at 22%. I've been on 3G with shoddy signal for a lot of the day. This is the battery level I used to get out of ICS. I am incredibly happy. I should mention power saving mode is off and I have not underclocked. I'm simply running the build the way it comes out of the box.

From what I know, power saving mode reduces screen refresh rate from normal 60 (when set to off) to 40 (when set to on). I have had this on all the time... and don't really notice much difference even when playing full 3D games. So I just leave it on all the time.

Exception of power saving mode is only one game... Fruit Ninja... This too I realized cos my wife plays this game a lot, and I have hers under clocked to 1.02. Maybe game isn't optimized well...

Fruit ninja was a fun game but I was never addicted. Also, you are correct about the framerate. Here's a screenshot directly from Samsung about what power saving mode actually does specifically:

Please note: Photos represent theme work. Please use Wanam Xposed Framework (Included) to theme the ROM to your liking.

    Information:

This is a stock-based ROM that I've made using UCUEMJB firmware for the AT&T Galaxy S3. I've spent a lot of time developing this ROM making it nice and stable and using the tweaks I thought were the best for smoothness, battery life, and stability. This ROM uses a modified, optimized UCUEMJB kernel by me that includes support for init.d scripts and a few extra bells and whistles.

    Features:
    • UCUEMJB Android 4.3 Official Base
    • Modified and optimized UCUEMJB kernel by me
    • Extended power menu
    • Extended APN list
    • Smoothness and battery life tweaks
    • Fully de-odexed
    • Fully zipaligned
    • Bashed
    • Rooted
    • init.d script support and tweaks
    • Real time status bar colors
    • Real time battery bar mod
    • 1% battery mod
    • ADB support
    • Debloating
    • Xposed Framework for custom theming
    • AT&T logo removed
    • Wifi Notification removed
    • Google Now
    • S-Voice
    • Multiwindow
    • Google Keyboard
    • Multi-language support
    • AllianceRom Boot Animation
    • Increased group messaging size
    • Increased MMS size and quality
    • AT&T Contacts removed
    • System sounds from the Nexus 4
    • No increasing ringtone
    • SMS split removed, messages with multiple pages combined
    • Blacklisting
    • MMS slideshow removed so MMS appears threaded and individual
    • Multi SMS lock
    • Call block menu in settings
    • Popup Browser
    • Many other tweaks...

    Installation Instructions:
    1. You MUST have the UCUEMJB or UCUEMJ2 bootloader and the UCUEMJB modem installed before proceeding or this ROM will not work properly. Your data and wifi may be broken if you do not do this first. These are available here: Bootloader and Modem Options
    2. Download ROM to SD card
    3. Reboot into recovery (Must be the latest version)
    4. Do a factory reset
    5. Wipe cache and dalvik cache
    6. Wipe system
    7. Flash Rom (This process may take a minute or two)
    8. Wipe cache and dalvik cache again just to be safe
    9. Tap reboot
    10. In TWRP: Slide the slider to allow TWRP to fix SuperSU permissions (optional)

    Post Installation Instructions:
    • Upon first boot, SystemUI may force close due to modifications. Let the phone settle for a minute and reboot. You should not experience this again.
    • It is HIGHLY suggested that you keep ALL Google Now cards off, verify that you are not updating your location with Google Maps (in Maps settings menu). Remember, Google Now automatically turns on your location settings to update through Google Maps, so after enabling Google Now, unless you want your location on all the time, go to Google Maps and turn it off. Your battery will thank you even more.
    • If you get a Google account sign-in error after installing, there is an easy fix. Go to Menu > Settings > Accounts and Sync. Please REMOVE your current Google account and then add it again. I do not know why this happens to some people, but it doesn't seem to be ROM related. It happens on several devices including the Nexus. Removing and then re-adding your account again fixes this problem

    11/2/2012: Initial Release
    -Plans for Intergalactic Ringtone
    -Intergalactic wallpaper
    -AOSP theming coming soon
-For now, I believe most UCALH1 themes will work with this. I should also note that the keyboard I prefer is Jellybean keyboard on the play store. I think it works best with this ROM unless you really like the Samsung keyboard.

New version 3.0 is up and running. Completely new base. Theming will come later, but most of loserskaters real-time mods have been added so please make sure to head on over to all of his modification threads and thank him as well as enewman17. I have updated tweaks and we are good to go on the new base. Flash away and enjoy! Remember to read the OP as flashing instructions are new. Please make sure you check the MD5 for verification. SystemUI may crash upon first boot. That is normal. Simply reboot the phone and it should not occur again. Thanks for all your patience guys. This has taken me a long time, but I hope it is worth it. :)
