Default Android on wifi routers

Hi everyone -

We're a group of Android developers that are in the process of porting it to Wifi routers.

We have it running on the ASUS RT-AC66U currently and soon on the Linksys EA6500 and Netgear R6300.

We will have an alpha build up shortly for folks to try out and test.

We are looking for alpha testers and Android app developers.

Some background info -

Droidifi is a development group porting Android to MIPS and ARM based headless wireless routers.

The current build is based on Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2r1 using a modified Linux 3.6.11 kernel and custom device drivers. Our Android port has been retrofitted with a virtual display driver that uses VNC to create the Android GUI on any VNC client or in any HTML5 compatible browser.

Cool, thanks!

We are developing for the Asus RT-AC66U, Linksys EA6500, and Netgear R6300 for the first release.

Do you have one of these routers?

For the alpha release due in a week or so you will also need a serial to USB cable so you can access the Linux console. We can show you how to build/buy this cable if you don't already have one.

For the beta releases you won't need a cable. We are planning on releasing the first beta in about 3 weeks if development proceeds on schedule.

----------------

And check us out on Kickstarter!
