CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.3 (JB), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:
#include
/*
 * Your warranty is now void.
 *
 * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
 * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
 * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
 * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
 * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
 *
 * Submitting bug reports on nightly builds is the leading
 * cause of male impotence.
 */

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

DEAR KANGERS
If you're going to reuse our work, which we're doing for free, be fair and give proper credits.
This is the only payment we're really demanding and we deserve it to be mentioned because of the countless hours we've put into this project.
Open-Source doesn't meant Out-of-Respect!!!

So i just installed this and tried Focal. When in portrait mode I was able to get it to go to pick picsphere but it starts going nuts when rotating device to landscape. I then try to launch Focus or the Camera app and it cannot connect to camera. So thats an issue. Also, I was not getting 4G/LTE in an area I know I get it in. Trying to reload stock to get the locks for GPS and to update my profiles then will try again.

The advanced menu seems to have been taken out. So we can no longer turn off the back light on the capacitive keys nor save battery by turning off the stylus layer.

Is it going to be merged again?

(From the old thread.)

When attempting to compile CM 10.2 from source, the build process stops with this error message:

Code:

Export includes file: external/mdnsresponder/Android.mk -- /home/ace/android/cm-10.2-clean/out/target/product/l900/obj/EXECUTABLES/mdnsd_intermediates/export_includes

make: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....
Notice file: frameworks/base/cmds/media/NOTICE -- /home/ace/android/cm-10.2-clean/out/target/product/l900/obj/NOTICE_FILES/src//system/bin/media.txt

Would someone please explain what this message indicates.

ROM looks good so far. Fast. Smooth. But have the options to change the DPI been removed? I can't find them anywhere.

I did a full wipe and flashed the first nightly and gapps. Everything went well until I rebooted. When I restarted my phone, it just hung at the Galaxy Note II screen. When I booted into TWRP, it asked me for a password and my data partition was encrypted.....

Edit: I did restore apps from rom toolbox pro. Maybe that caused the problem. I will try again. Full wipe and reinstall apps from play store.

I am having the same issue where I get stuck on the splash screen upon reboot, with no adb access. I have eliminated the issue being caused from: my personal CM build, GApps package, and wiping vs not wiping. The only way I can get it to boot fully is to boot back into recovery (TWRP) and reflash. I'm at a loss...

Guys, I've flashed this rom 3 times today while comparing it to ParanoidAndroid's release and I haven't run into this issue. Did you guys do a factory reset AFTER installing the rom and gapps? I noticed this was an extra step that I did not have to perform while on 4.2.2. So basically, I had to wipe data twice before I rebooted to actually start the rom, once before I installed the rom and once again after I installed gapps; before I rebooted.

Good Luck!!

I have also rebooted twice since flashing the rom this morning and had no difficulties either time, the only thing I can add is that I used the same process as MrMathis; I did a factory reset after flashing the rom and Gapps. Hope this helps.

Are you guys finding success with cwm or twrp? OP states use cwm however I have always used twrp. Just wondering if the issues are because of twrp recovery?

    Hey Scott,

    I was experimenting on creating my own build from source for 4.4 so I could help/contribute if needed.

    When I ran breakfast l900 for cm11, I was able to use the branch for android_device_samsung_l900, but then it stopped with this message:

    build/core/product_config.mk:238: *** _nic.PRODUCTS.[[device/samsung/l900/cm.mk]]: "vendor/samsung/smdk4412-common/common-vendor.mk" does not exist. Stop.

    ** Don't have a product spec for: 'cm_l900'
    ** Do you have the right repo manifest?

    Am I missing something or am I jumping the gun on making the new build?

    Thanks

    missing the samsung vendor repo, its on github but under theMuppets.

    Anyways here's a cm11 build: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23212708291675622
    usual disclaimer, flash in CWM 6043 or higher (a must or risk losing 3g/4g). Asserts might be screwy so let me know if it errors trying to install, might just need to remove the top 3 assert lines from the updater script
    I'll start an official thread next week when I work a few more things out. MAKE A BACKUP FIRST!!

    seems it was an incorrect build.prop setting that changed from 4.2 to 4.3 that affected the graphics. should be much better in next nightly thanks to arcee
