hi there

i am following the intructions for upgrading to gingerbread

http://dev.openaos.org/wiki/AndroidInstall_CM7_Gingerbread#Forgen8specific

i have done all the steps too (including the zImage and initramfs.cpio.gz)-

7.Press the power button on your Archos and select "Reboot" in the white recovery menu. Hold down again the Volume down while rebooting, so you can select SDE to boot.

I press the power button and boot with the vol down button pressed, i go into developer ed menu and i get stuck.

i cant find anything that will allow me to boot into ginger bread,

options i get are exit, flash kernal and inittamfs and uninstall developer edition(media...blah blah blah)

any one help me please

You should not go into recovery and then Developer edition, you should select Developer in the first menu.

I have done this but it keeps booting into the recovery mode now?

What have I missed?

Once you get the stock firmware running again and the developper edition removed, some leftover files can be still found in the root directory.

-data.img
-openaos-gingerbread.img.gz

If you don't think you'll come back to CyanogenMod/OpenAOS, they're not needed anymore.
