Same here. Incredible drain while so many others talk about days of off-charger time. I don't get it and am also trying to diagnose wtf is going on.

Edit: just for base info - this is a 2.5.1 flash, -wipe-notw-nobatt, *nothing* installed from market because there's not even a Google account setup. The current drain is between 5-10% per hour with absolutely no use (no calls, no sms, no wifi - just sleep).

Do you also find that sometimes the battery drain is EXCELLENT? Such as .5% an hour? Then, after some event, battery drain shoots up to like you said, 10% an hour or more? This is what I'm finding.

I have an indication right now what this is, but I need to re-create the "fast drain" condition, to get some solid data. Right now, my phone is draining as expected, around 1% an hour.

I'll get to the bottom of this, disabling Google Backup is a good place to start. I can confirm this was draining battery by keeping the device awake. This was confirmed with my T989D on two ROMs with FULL wipes in between.

Cheers

When you installed the ROM did you have it in the root of sdcard and not a sub directory? You must install ROM from the root of sdcard or the scripts will not work. Had the same problem.

Prob a dumb question... What exactly does that mean? I installed the ROM from the usbStorage folder on the phone, I haven't noticed anything wrong. Should it have been put on the external sdcard? Thanks.

[RANT] For all the people on the board crying and complaining about lack of ICS and CM support, you should have researched before purchasing the device. If you wanted ICS or CM out the gate, you should of bought a GN! I can't even look thru the board anymore because of all this useless ics & cm spam... SERIOUSLY STFU ABOUT IT ALREADY! [/RANT]

Not sure what problem is supposed to crop up, but I installed this rom from within a subfolder like you and never experienced any post-installation issues.

I love looking through the GS2 forum, especially the general, and seeing the same ics threads getting started the moment the last one leaves the first page.
(Actually its pretty old meow) TDJ you seem like a pretty down to earth dude and I for one thank you for bringing some real world balance to this device and forum. Used your stuff in the mt4g and love your work especially your kernels. I know its frustrating but hang in there with the rest of us who see things like you do and those who are impatient and disrespectful will leave to haunt another device.

You are your own master so throw up those middle fingers and do your thing boss.

    ..A DARKSIDE DEVELOPMENT..

** PLEASE READ ENTIRE OP THOROUGHLY BEFORE ASKING ANY QUESTIONS OR REPORTING ANY BUGS **

    ** HIGHLY RECOMMENDED **

    ClockworkMod Recovery 5.0.2.7

Based off STOCK KL1 System dump straight from my very own untouched(at the time) device

    Included:

CLEAN, FAST, SMOOTH, & FULLY FUNCTIONAL !!!
    • Enhanced/Optimized Stock ROM - *VERY MINOR* visual changes
    • KL1 Android 2.3.6
    • Deodexed (Thanks @raycaster3)
    • CIQ Free
    • Touch or Touchless - included in one ROM - available with flag
    • DARKSIDE.SUPER.WIPE - available with flag
    • Blurry MMS fixed (@TDJ)
    • MMS over WIFI/WIFI CALLING
    • 14 toggle quickpanel w/ quickpanel settings app (@lidroid)
    • Extended Power Menu
    • Zip align on boot
    • Optimized/Refined
    • Roboto Font default
    • CRT Off animation
    • Volume Wake
    • Fixed Kernel info in 'About' settings
    • Removed uneeded apps aka "BLOAT"
    • BLN support for STOCK messaging app
    • BLN support for "most" other apps
    • SIP over 3g/4g
    • Modified Stock Browser
    • Modified TW Launcher

    Working:
    • DATA
    • MMS
    • WIFI
    • WIFI CALLING
    • MMS OVER WIFI/WIFI CALLING
    • GPS
    • BLUETOOTH
    • WIRELESS TETHER
    • USB TETHER

    Known Issues:
    • You tell me...

    TOUCH Includes:
    -Default install with no flags
    • TouchWiz UI
    • All stock Samsung apps

    TOUCHLESS Includes:
-Installed using '-notw' flag at end of file name
    • Removes TouchWiz UI
    • Zeam Launcher
    • Removes most Samsung apps

    Add flags to filename:

An adaptation of @waydownsouth's script, I have modified and created a script that allows for flexibility with how I can create and user can install a ROM. *PLEASE READ* this next section carefully and only proceed with a full understanding of what you are about to do. Ask any questions within the thread before doing so...

    Available flags:
    • -wipe
    • -notw
    • -twmod
    • -nobatt
    • -volwake
What SUPER DARKSIDE WIPE flag does:
    • -wipe = A full wipe that is much more through and is HIGHLY suggested over any wipe options in recovery menu. It will also format partitions to EXT4 (NOTE: THIS WILL DELETE ALL USER DATA! DOESN'T TOUCH SD CARD/EMMC!)
    • -notw = (No TouchWiz - TOUCHLESS) This will remove the TouchWiz UI and mostly all Samsung apps and Widgets. I left some of the more requested apps in. By not adding this flag you will get a STOCK KL1 Build.
    • -twmod = Installs a 5x4x5 modified TW Launcher. (See screen shot below)
    • -nobatt = Completely disables the 100% battery pop-up and notification.
    • -volwake = Enables volume buttons to wake the device (Just as power button)
If no -wipe flag is added to the end of file name it will not wipe...

Adding flags to the file name:

    If default file name is:
    Code:
    [B]DARKSIDE.DIGITAL.WARFARE_v2_TDJ.zip[/B]

To perform a SUPER.DARKSIDE.WIPE by adding -wipe flag to end of file name:
    Code:
    [B]DARKSIDE.DIGITAL.WARFARE_v2_TDJ[B][COLOR="red"]-wipe[/COLOR][/B].zip[/B]

To flash a TOUCHLESS ROM and perform a SUPER.DARKSIDE.WIPE by adding -notw and -wipe flag to end of file name:
    Code:
    [B]DARKSIDE.DIGITAL.WARFARE_v2_TDJ[B][COLOR="red"]-wipe-notw[/COLOR][/B].zip[/B]

Get IT??? Its as simple as adding available flag to the end of the file name.

*PLEASE NOTE* The file name must also contain no spaces or else it will not work!!

    Kernel Info:
    • Kernel base: 2.6.35.14
    • Included Version: DARKSIDE X v2 RC2 *UNRELEASED* - lets keep it that way for now...

What i am am about to say is real talk. v2.6 is going to update to my new v3 kernel. I rebased off the latest skyrocket source that was released in the end of February. If you don't things could get and more smooth, snappy, and more battery efficient.. you're in for a treat! I also will be including a script that can set a predefined profile, you may have seen screen shots I have posted. No eta on release so don't ask.. not sure what other changes, if any, will be included.

I also have to say that this board is in rough shape. A lot people think I like to "troll" these boards and cause drama. I just want to clear this up and let people know that I am only looking out for the better of the community. A lot of people here don't really know a lot of the technical sides of android and our device. I really hate to see people get screwed over by someone that really doesn't have a clue but needs to try and feel important on xda. I am honestly looking out for our community and try to weed out the garbage as best I can. I don't care what people think of me and I don't care what people say. I do what I say and say what I do. I have contributed plenty to this board and never leave you guys hanging. Honestly outside team kang there hasn't been much actual development since I migrated over here. I appricate that people are eager to learn, but its a damn shame the ego that comes along with having your own thread...

With v2.6 I think its going to be time to take a break because honestly, **** is ridiculous over here. OK vent over... carry on my dudes
