No I have not had option to update yet, I was hoping it may come in next few days but nothing.

Do you have a link to do this unlock and s-off please, is it difficult?

go to www.htcdev.com and unlock ur bootloader first.its simpel and step by step guide available in there

and then downgrade your HBOOT to use this guid.its 100%working

Thanks for the info, much appreciated, I will wait to see if I get option to update before trying this.

I have now unlocked using htcdev.

After updating I lost s-off and now have the 1.53hboot. No biggie though, as the official ICS works quite well.

Funny thing though...I see superuser app in OTA ICS. Doesnt work of course, since we cant root it yet...or can we?

since you havent touch your phone up to now...think would be better for you to wait for the official notification from HTC... its al over europe already... i am sure its already around the corner and you would receive the OTA notification before you know it...

I tried the next stage but get device not found when trying to start the hboot process.

after unlock you need to s-off to flash the modded ICS patch... you can use this guide as I used it also when i dont know a thing about rooting and I did it...

Great.. Finally I completed and now I am on ICS..

Like to share that when I was trying to upgrate to latest GB ROM in Step 1. I was getting error..

SD checking....

No image

No image or wrong image!
Loading ...[PG86IMG.tar]
No image!
Loading ...[PG86IMG.aes]
No image!
Loading...[PG86IMG.enc]
No image !

Then the Zip file got corrupted Tried number of ways.. Then I thought to give a try by changing the Name of the file to PG86DIAG.zip as the phone was searching for this name I thought to give it this name.. and wooo It updated the ROM.. then next steps went like a knife on the Butter...

This what i was using but it it wont detect

Tried restarting computer, just wont detect device from cmd using the adb.

Tried with sim card in and out, with debugging enabled. Confused, some people say it needs to be rooted but I thought I just needed to unlock and roll back a hboot and then go from their, other threads state

except on screen request
dd if=/dev/block/mmvblk0p31 of=/mnt/sd/mmcblk31.img"

What is this all about? is it a program, a code? or what don't follow, people make reference to try different custom roms but I am default apart from htcdev unlock.

are u turn on USB debuging ? make sure it.is it of first turn on from Stetting -> Application-> tik USB Debugging

run adb from as administrator permission (Run as administrator)

Ics sucks.big time.i really regret updating.
Cons
I cant use screen filter app to turn off the soft keys.the irritatin soft keys wont turn off any more.the resultant light leakage at the base just makes me angry.
3d video playback isnt as smooth as it used to be.it stutters very minutely.took the fun out of watchin 3d movies on the phone.
Previously i was able to play 1080p mkv via dice player without any hiccup.now there are hiccups.
The stock video player is crappy as usual.
No burst mode or takin stills while recording in camera.
Asphalt 6 doesnt work on 3d any more.
Srs doesnt work on music player.
So no real improvements for me here except for the changed settings menu and a bit smoother transaction animations.its like htc was purposefully makin it worse to make people change the phone.
I wish i didnt update.i wish i could downgrade :'(

Comically I also read on other threads and sites that video playback (3D and 1080p) and some games like GTA 3 are now choppy, as well some games won't play in (real) 3D anymore. Can anyone confirm this? (I am still on GB)

just want to flash custom rom mwakious3Drom and found what it based on official release 3.28.707 with baseband 11.77.3504.00P_11.25.3504.06_M, but we've got 3.28.401.1 with baseband 11.77.3504.00U_11.25.3504.06_M

How is it possible? And what the different is?

I'm now on ICS through official update and have had no issues so far. Infact the phone is a lot snappier.

I can confirm troubles with video: rockplayer-lite with software decoding, the audio is to choppy
and games: Gun Bros, DH is really slower then it was on GB
The overall qualitty and perfomance is better/smoother + battery life is amazing increased

Try different players, I only use MX Player now, since it can play 3D videos. Do not base your conclusions on a single app. I don't regret one bit upgrading to ICS.
