I check if the phone/tablet can be bootloader unlocked before buying... and then buy and unlock and root within hours... and sometimes even build ROMs for my devices if there aren't too many community ROMs

I would just like to know one thing; why wouldn't you root? It's not like jailbreaking where you loose battery life and get all sorts of problems. It just gives you an option for better apps and customization.

I'm new to Android with the Sony Xperia T being my first Android phone. I actually really like Sony skin so I can't see myself rooting in the near future but perhaps when I get more knowledgable and confident about doing it I might consider it.
