CM 7.2 RC3 was consistently dropping my calls (just like CM7 always did for me) so I came back to this now that it has new baseband support. Still getting SOD. I actually even got one just during the initial setup, it was trying to sync my account over 2G so I left it to sit for a couple minutes and when I came back I had to battery pull.
I don't ever get SOD when plugged in, just on battery.
I'm more than happy to try to get some kind of log for this, but I'm not sure how because the logs don't survive a reset, as far as I know?

(Otherwise things are great, calls work fine, things run fast, I can play Draw Something again, etc.)

EDIT: This is on the built-in non-OC kernel. Don't even have SetCPU installed or anything like that.

Flash different kernel, maybe the 05-25 harsh oc kernel, or the 06-03 one. Some people have been having issues with the stock kernel.

Is this ICS pretty stable? I know the other ICS roms aren't too stable and they're still kinda slow here and there, just wondering if this one is any different?

This build has been the most consistent on stability concerning the ics roms. But remember everyone's phone is different, so just flash and enjoy the pizza.

Sent from Owain's. Best DAMN pizza in town.

I saw that in the OP, there was an option to remove the 3-Dot In-App Menu button. How do I do it? I don't see it anywhere in the settings. Thanks. :)

Haha so many settings, hard to find them all.

From the home screen:
Menu > System settings > OWAIN > Tweaks > Display > Menu overflow button
(requires reboot)

I've tried the 05-25 OC Kernel, still gave me SOD. The 06-03 one is what ships with this ROM, at least as of build 77. I could try a different kernel, looking at faux123 right now, 050b1. Maybe I'll try this for a while and see what happens.

Anybody notice how when you go into the play store it will try to go to the play store screen, but then loads the apps section of the play store for the startup?

Weird flashing problem with new baseband

I'm having a weird problem, and not sure what's causing it... I decided to upgrade to the new 21y baseband when I first saw that Eaglesblood was supporting it. So I went through the whole baseband upgrade process, flashed build 4 of Eaglesblood, all good. When I saw that Owain had come out with a Build 77 of his ROM, and that he had a 2nd flashable file to make it work with the new baseband, I thought I'd try coming back to Owain's wonderful ROMs.

So I made a complete backup of my EB setup, just in case I ran into problems (good thing). Did a complete wipe of all data, cache, dalvik, & flashed Build 77 plus the new baseband file.

Phone booted up fine; but I basically found that something had gone very wrong with my ability to reinstall apps. First, when I tried Titanium Backup, I found that some apps reinstalled fine; others it would try to install, and then say "App not installed" or something like that. And then if I tried to go in to the market and search for that app to install it, I could not find it. Wouldn't show up. Also, sometimes when I would open Titanium Backup it would tell me that my Device ID had been changed? Never seen that before.

Then other times when I would reboot the phone, I would find that the Android Market was completely GONE. The icon for it was gone, the app for it was gone, etc.

No matter what I do, I can't get around this. I tried using Nullify to completely wipe everything, and then install -- same thing. But I can restore my backup from when I had EB build 4 installed, and everything is back to normal.

Any suggestions?

For titanium I had a similar issue, and my fix was to uninstall then install to fix.

Other issue for market you can clear cache then check.
I would personally redownload build and flash again.

I have had no stability issues. I clean wipe and install the rom, let it sit, then install gapps and fix perms. I think this is the best rom I've ever used.

Upgrading is actually very easy. I flashed stock 2.3 gb ota, then Googled LG g2x update, which led me to LG's website. 15 minutes later I'm back on the Owain pizza train, with faster GPS lock and crisper sound. It is actually almost noob proof. Good thing is if you do happen to mess something up, you can NVflash stock recovery again. I recommend to try it.

Thanks. Maybe I'll give it a try. LG's website does have support for OSX that I saw, which is why I'll have to hope for the OTA to kick in. Cheers.

I agree with that. I've been running ICS since HFS 1.4 and I've felt ICS has been stable enough for regular use since and I've only been on ICS ROMs. I just can't see myself going back to GB. Besides, anything is better than stock G2x.

can you add facebook sync to this rom

Can't you just pull that app from the HFS zip?

Why is this ROM "taking CyanogenMod to the next level?

CyanogenMod does not want to include many customizations like they did in cm7
But why not? We want to customize our phones!
This ROM adds more options and cherries to CyanogenMod, cherry picked from the CM gerrit, Google gerrit, AOKP gerrit, many github pages that are around or made by me

This ROM also includes a lot of experimental changes like many NEON optimized code sets, better libraries like jpeg-turbo and tweaked surface flinger, skia and many more

Want to turn the recent panel in to an app killer?
Just select the option for a kill-all button!

You want to use this big awesome screen for tablet mode?
OK! just boot in tablet mode then!

You want to reboot but don't wait to long?
Just execute a hot reboot this is 50% - 70% faster then a normal reboot

    You want a custom density?
    Got that covered!

    Hate the default Roboto font?
Just change it to another font with the build in font changer!

Hate the stupid useless overflow menu button (onscreen menu button)?
Also got an option for that just hide it!

Hate the ugly Android Global Action (power menu) dialog?
Just change it to a nice three row picture view without text

In Android you can swipe from the top of the screen downwards to expands the status bar
Why only from the top of the screen?
In this ROM you can define actions for
    • Swiping top edge
    • Swiping left edge
    • Swiping right edge
    • Swiping bottom edge

for example if you want the hide the status bar you can simply define a swipe action for it to an edge you like

And there is many more in this ROM!

Stock but still highly customizable the way we like it

    ScreensP9.png

    Download.png

    ROM:

    Download portal

    Gapps:

    gapps-ics-20120429-modified-for-custom-density
If you have problems with the modified package flash the stock package
    gapps-ics-20120429-stock

    flash one of those
and if you want inverted holo black gapps instead of holo white flash this afterwards

    gapps-ics-20120429-holo-black-addon

Running the new baseband on your p999? than you'll need this fix for ROM side support!
flash this after the ROMhttp://owain.hopto.org/T-Mobile LG G2x (p999)/Domination/new_baseband.zip

you'll need to do a full wipe because this is compiled with a way newer toolchain

when you boot it the ROM will be jerky and may even reboot but once everything is cached and the idmaps are build it will be fine!

    Oh yeah, one more thing...

DO NOT USE SCRUBBER, NULLIFIER, OR CLEANUP BATCH!

For the love of all things holy please listen to this. Have y'all not noticed how many people have problems after using these "so-called tools"? Ffs cwm does all you need to install roms. So stop causing yourselves more problems.
