Stuck in splash screen

Hello and many thanks for all the info so far!

I had a stock GT-B5510 which for some reason failed to boot correctly. It stops at the splash screen with the SAMSUNG logo. :crying:
I decided to flash your tweak and followed all your steps, but when I am in "mount /data", i get an error.
System is mounted correctly and i see the "unmount/system" option in ClockWorkRecoveryMod.
Any ideas what might be the problem?
Thanks in advance.

It seems to be quite common. Indeed the partitions of the a GT-B5510 can corrupt, and it result such an issue. You can try to flash the stock rom and erase again all your data with the stock recovery mode and see if you can, after that, mount /data. If not, you'll have to find a .pit file which had to be used with Odin in order to recover your correct partition table.
Good luck !

Many thanks! User did a factory reset and whipped data from android system, but suddenly it stopped working. He gave it to me, i did again the process from the stock recovery mode, but no luck.
Where can i locate the .pit file. I think i am spending too much time on an old phone, but i would like to see it run with your tweaks....

I don't know, unfortunately, I've searched a bit on the web, but as I had not found anything and as I was not concerned, I stopped.
Good luck !

hi guys!
Can i place this ROM on a SGY pro GT-B5510 L?
I`ve read somewhere it`s probably failing the 3g because of that last L (latin) in the model number.
thanks in advance, i`m anxious for testing this rom in my phone!

Hello !
You can try to port this rom, I give you the right, but I don't guarantee you that it will work easily as I don't know the L version.
Good luck !

Thanks! Do you think it's posible to flash back again the L version if this one fails?

Sent from my GT-B5510L using XDA Free mobile app

If the only difference is the network, yes of course. But if the hardware is different, an unadapted kernel like asasoft's one could seriously brick your device... Have a look on their site, they might have mentioned your device :)
EDIT : the kernel will work, you can try without much danger, but keep a backup and the original rom files for b5510l ;)

The build-in rom backup utility in the CWM is for me the best way, but in fact I've never used it ^^

The build-in backup utility, but as I have only a few settings, I always prefer to start from scratch when an issue occur, so I've never use any backup, except for the SMS (sms backup and restore on Google play) and the build-in backup utility in the default contacts app

Specs:

Model: GT-B5510
Android Version: 2.3.6
Bassband version B5510
Kernel Version 2.6.35.7 andrewx@station6 #12
Build number : JellyPro V1.3 by Nyco OTA 2.1

I recently installed a custom rom JellyPro V1.3 by Nyco OTA 2.1. However after installing a custom recovery and the rom everything works great except for my 3G. I have data enabled and background synching enabled but nothing seems to be working to get my 3g back up and running.
I have even tried enable and disabling the radio so I'm not sure where to proceed from here. Hopefully someone can offer some assistance?

Thanks.

Hello,
The problem you describe comes from the APN setting, check on your operator website to enter the good values in the APN menu (somewhere in the setting for cellular data)
Keep me update !

Hi, tried this on my GT B5510L and works great. Only thing: I don't have a signal.
The start logo also fails but already found somewhere else how to fix it, haven't tried it yet.

The L version is just like the other one, but for Latin America. America uses mostly 850/1900 Mhz bands and Europe 900/1800. There's no CSC code for my country in the list, I searched for ARO and it's not there. So I flashed only the CSC file from a regional ROM but it freezes as soon as it gets to the home screen. Any idea how I could resolve it? It works fine, but can't get a signal.

Thanks.

Hello !
I think the only way to get the signal back is to download the original ROM and flash the CSC. Therefore, this may not be the only file responsible for the problem, and I can't really help you if the CSC alone wouldn't work... You can mannually unpack the rom, and search for an appropriate file...
Good luck

Hey thanks for replying. I managed to make it work. Started from scratch.

1. Flashed with Odin an argentinean stock ROM. Reboot.
2. Flashed with Odin ASAsoft kernel. Reboot.
3. Installed through CWM your ROM. Reboot.
4. Changed CSC code to FOP, it's from Spain but works ok, signal and keyboard wise.
5. Installed OTA update 1.3. Reboot. Then 2.1. Reboot. Then battery 2.1. Reboot. Then 3.1. Reboot.

So it all works. Merci beaucoup! :D

When I go into recovery it shows:
e.
multicsc : src /system/csc/FOP/system/ .

And kernel is 2.6.35.7 andrewx@station6 #14, seems right?

If you could please send a link to the center clock update that'd be great, it's not in the original themes post.

Thanks a lot!

    Utilities (unzip) : http://www.mediafire.com/?51061xjq21c71xk
ROM JellyPro (do NOT unzip) : http://www.mediafire.com/?9rb34a481eg9gbq

    ASASoft kernel : https://github.com/asasoft/Kernel-B5510

/!\ Please do not mirror and PM me before publishing on an other thread or forum /!\

After downloading and unzipping, you should have seven files :

    Stock ROM :
    • Modem.tar
    • PDA.tar
    • CSC.tar

    Cutom kernel :
    • Samsung-B5510-Kernel.tar

    Utilities :
    • unlock.zip to unlock your phone if you want
    • CWM.zip to flash the ROM

    And the custom ROM :
    • JellyProV1.3.zip

    SETUP :

Preliminary : have ODIN (last version recommended), put unlock.zip , CWM.zip and JellyProV1.3.zip on your memory card, not in any folder

Step 1 : Connect your phone in download mode (power + home + vol down) and flash stock ROM with odin.
Get back another time to download mode, and flash the custom kernel.

Step 2 : Reboot your phone recovery mode (power + home + vol up) and select "wipe data (factory reset)", and confirm
Warning : this wil ERASE ALL your data
(you can just make a "wipe cache", but I don't advise that)

Then select "Apply update from sdcard", and select CWM.zip
    You enter in the ClockWorkRecoveryMod
Select => "mount and storage", => "format /system", confirm

IMPORTANT : do NOT forget, then, to select "mount /system" and "mount /data", unless ROM won't install correctly (after that, they both say "unmount/system" and "unmount/data")

The hit return button and chose in the menu : "install zip from sdcard", then "choose zip from sdcard". Select JellyProV1.3.zip.
    Be patient...

    Reboot.

    Recommendations :
Don't try to update, it's useless because the apk has been removed

    • agmtpd for the task switcher
    • lokeshsaini94 for various mods
    • lidroid for the statut bar
    • And you, tester, to give me ideas and reports

If a moderator could move this thread, I'll be thankful... I cannot post in dev cause I'm still a n00b on this forum... and sorry if my english isn't very well, cause I'm french :)

    TIP :
If your sim card doesn't work (and if you want to set your keyboard as qwerty and not azerty), try changing the CSC : type *#06# to get your IMEI number, and then type *#272*<your IMEI># ; select your own CSC code (for me XEF for example) but this will ERASE ALL YOUR DATA !!!

    Observation :
    • This ROM is very close to the JellyBlast one I made a few month ago. That's intentional : I re-coded myself all the functionalities I wanted from the stock ROM. There is no code from creed anymore (you can check ;)), only mine and these from the credits.
    • If you spot a bug, or/and you know hows to solve it (especially theming ones), PM me :)

    UPDATES :

All Over The Air (OTA) updates must be flashed in CWM, after doing a "clean cache" (if not, a bootloop can occur) ; obviously, do not format /system... All previous updates must be flashed before applying the latest update (for example, you have to be in OTA1.3 in order to flash 2.1).

    OTA 1.3 :
Excuse me for the names, but the OTA 1.3 is not included in JellyPro1.3. It only means I made 3 major changes in the original ROM, and 3 major changes in the first OTA.

    Changelog :
    • Swipe to get away notification added
    • Buggy beats equalizer deleted
    • Superuser shortcut added in settings
    • Luminosity slider added in statut bar
    • Solved which made crash the statut bar in the setting app
    • Wake up on optical pad press
    • Emotes added

    OTA 2.1 :

Changelog (sorry, not too much I'm afraid) :
    • Bug solved on SMS stock app
    • Bug solved on statut bar
    • ES File explorer updated
    • Only a few graphic issues solved
    • Loading annimation changed
    • Wake up on optical press debug for those who don't use french language

All those zips must be flashed in CWM after a wipe of the cache and a davlik-cache. Moreover, theses themes are only for the latest version of JellyPro : 3.1 (even if the name ends by 2.1, it only show the minimal update you have to get before flashing the theme).
