If I delete a few system\apk\xxxx.apk in the ZIP before flashing, will that generate errors in a script or will it flash correctly minus those apps that I don't want?
Or will the installer also create data for that apk that will remain 'orphaned' in the ROM?

I can't manage to get adb working with this build. Is there a need for specific usb driver?
Another thing, when I pull down the status bar quickly, sometimes it splits the notification area and left and right sides are not moving at the same speed.
One last question, not really related to this specific build. Is there a way to crop the ls wallpaper? Right now in stock gallery app it chooses the center of the image.

Νο, it's not. I don't mean crt-off, when locking the screen. I mean when unlocking the screen, i don't have crt-on and i didn't changed anything...i.e. check this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ls4V496kwI at 0:08 sec

I can crop the wall with stock gallery too, but not the lockscreen wallpaper. When I choose to change the ls wall, I get to gallery and when I pick the image it instantly sets itself, no cropping. If it's only me, that's a shame, if not, I guess the miui china need to implement it.

Anyway, did anyone here experienced slowdowns and overall choppyness? I get this sometimes suddenly after waking the phone and only a reboot helps. I don't have any app to sync on phone wake, so no idea why this is happening...
Nope, don't have such problems. It's the smoothest MIUI I've tried. I do have Background process limit set to 'at most 4 apps', maybe this helps a little bit. I also have pretty much everything off (like data, sync) and removed apps I don't use.
I have experienced some random loss of service though, reboot helps. But have flashed latest Semaphore kernel and it's been ok so far.
Sorry.....its in the framework. Factory reset to get it back or decompile the framework-res.apk and go to Res/drawable-hdpi/default_wallpaper.

There is an issue in messaging where one thing that the blacklist icon in not visible. Whenever I try to open the blacklist it force closes.
I received one message which was seen in the status bar and was no where in the messaging.
This is something funny.
One question: Shall I install it over again without wipe? Do I need to clear cache. Backup required?

I have not tried AOKP as such, however MIUIV4 is awesome, with a fair enough battery life. To get a better experience go for clean install. This is what I prefer. But can go with installations instructions by devs too.
If possible can you check few last pages of this thread. I have seen somewhere about it and devs have been answering to the similar questions.
May be you get to know reading the posts.

INTRODUCTION- this rom is based on nexus s releases of MIUIv4 and cm9 releases for sgs ,we will move our base to miuiv4 official as soon as it is released(that may never happen though but still we won't stop). The main aim for this rom will be to provide good battery life, stability and smoothness to its users. If someone doesn't knows what miui is then open en.miui.com. in brief, miui is one of the most famous custom roms out there in the wild for android. It is an AOSP rom and is highly customizable and provides better experience than Samsung based roms. miui officially releases a rom update every Friday so u can always expect an update between Sunday Tuesday from us.

Flashing instructions (FOLLOW THESE IF U R ON ANY OTHER ROM)-
*you can flash this rom from any gingerbread/ics rom you are on .
*download rom.
*optionally backup your data using titanium backup/ my backup root and make a nandroid backup, just in case.
*Wipe data/factory reset.
*install zip from SD card -- choose zip from SD card -- install from where you have stored it.
*install again to make sure you don't loose cwm.
* reboot and let the rom settle for 5 minutes then complete Google setup, after that let the rom settle for another 5-10 minutes. Then use your device.
*please charge to 100% after first boot for perfect battery results.
Flashing instructions from any previous beta.
*download rom
*wipe data-- recommended, not necessary.
*install rom.
*install again to make sure u don't loose cwm .
*reboot.
*let it settle for 5-10 minutes.
*recommended- after installing rom charge to 100%. Download NStools app from android market to tweak kernel settings.NStools isn't found in games section of market that means it isn't a game so don't play with it, use it sensitively.

Known bugs:
*status bar has graphical glitches as per base.
*when we deactivate airplane mode incoming calls start working from next second.....that means that ril is fine and doesn't takes time after first boot....but outgoing calls won't work till the statusbar will show signals....and showing signals take 30 odd seconds as per graphical glitches.
*market is a bit laggy like in beta 4 and 5(miui framework bug, I assume so )
*dialer takes time on some keys cause of t9 search of contacts ( not a big problem) .
*messaging app is fine.....u just can't send or receive empty messages(lols).
*notes app is Chinese....not a bug really...just wait miui China for proper translation.
*in settings app there are one or two small options that are in Chinese.
*vertical scrolling in gtalk app is a bit laggy(framework related).
*these are known bugs yet...more will be added as we find them.
* if message app FCs even after the solution in first post, then go to cwm recovery and clear dalvik cache and fix permissions. Then reboot.

Q- how can I enable bln/ ?
A-its already working. No need to do anything.
Q- is the rom multi language ?
A-We want to add more languages, if u can help us with ur language then pls pm me or rtpfessoa.
Q-can I install the rom without wiping?
A- for the first time I recommend wiping for bug free use, after u install the rom once u can update to any new version without wiping.
Q-where can i find external SD ?
A-external SD card is in 'emmc' folder in the root of the Device. Use any root browsing app to access external SD card.
