So the biggest two features of this ROM, tablet mode and halo, can't be used together? Seems... odd...

Do I need to factory reset from original to halo ROM?

yes they do. you dont get ticking from halo since tablet has a ticker already. but it functions the rest just the same

in phone/phablet ui, look for the halo trigger in the notification shade

Ok, it doesn't work in tablet UI at first.
So you need to do phone ui.
Then switch back to tablet ui and halo's still there! It also works in pie mode

I'm sorry but there just isn't any way of activating Halo in tablet ui. It just isn't there.

no, not activating, but once its activated, you can switch back to tablet ui. just dont disable halo or make it auto hide since it will not tick while in tablet ui
