Embedded Entertainment Rom (EmbER) is small Linux distribution for the sole purpose of running the widely known Kodi Media Center as a OS on TV boxs using Amlogic chipsets and eventually others.

Support will be limited and handled over XDA forums.

-Have you been able to test audio out through SPDIF?
-Is internet streaming working for you?
-Is there a work-around for changing the network settings?
-Will a DHCP ethernet connection set itself up properly?

your welcome,

- no spdif untested but hdmi passthrough works fine
- yes i stream 480p/720p/1080p without issues
- that bug is unconfirmed as of now
- yes dhcp works

there is one problem. Fading 720 video and 1080, helps to rewind, but after a while the video freezes again, and the sound keeps going.

This could be a box specific issue because mine is working fine with streaming and playing local 1080p and 720p videos.

Witch box do you use, hdmi or A/V with or without spdif, are videos local or streamed(addon name), is your board g18ref or mx2ref?.

with that information i will work to fix issues with the model of box you have so please let me know and if possible capture xbmc and dmesg logs send them via PM.

Box g18ref patched in mx2ref. Connected by hdmi to the TV and the resolution exhibited 1080 (tried with 720). It can not overheat unnecessarily an additional fan. Video is on the NAS and the folder is connected via NFS. I can send the logs later. This problem also arises here http://matricom.net/forum/discussion/58/mx2-beta-linux-build-27jul/p4

Ok i see what you are talking about.. ill note for myself to look into, i feel it is going to come down to XBMC not the Linux and i haven't even had a chance to get that far into the source yet so capture logs please send them in a PM to me and i will work on figuring it out because i am unable to recreate the problem on my box so far.

I've also read in a M3 fourm that FF the video for a second then playing it will unfreeze it, and when you installed were you on android or linux and did you preform a wipe?

EDIT: Try watching 720p/1080p videos from a usb stick or something other then network storage/streaming addon and see if this problem occurs and let me know please.

Frodo Bug

The issue is due to XBMC Frodo and happens with HD .mkv files, This bug is very intermittent and most of the time won't even happen.

Bug:
Well watching HD .mkv files, In rare occasions video may freeze well audio continues

Temporary fix:
clicking fast-forward then play quickly will unfreeze it usually or check post #27

I am looking for the root of the problem now, The error during the video freeze is below if anyone can help let me know.

Cannot install!!

I am sure I am missing something. This is an image file and the MX will not install. I tried renaming the extension to .Zip to no avail. Any pointers? Thanks

OK it is a zip now try to redownload, what board are you on g18ref or mx2ref?

let me know what the error is if it wont flash.

It is for an MX box. I managed to install it but it will not connect to wifi? I downloaded the MX2ref?

ok can you capture a dmesg well its trying to connect and send it to me in a PM.

Remember its pre-alpha i am working on it.

Its for mx2ref and g18ref, mx2ref is the gbox midnight mx2 and g18ref is the same board just a china manufacturer

NOTE: From reading iv'e found this bug has bin around since Frodo and is still being investigated by the XBMC team (Confirmed by XBMC fourms).

The fault I see is consistent and exclusive to this build not Frodo it's also not related to ethernet or USB , any BBC HD stream fails and eventually locs up the player, symptoms are as you describe but my debug log indicates more fundamental flaws.
