RE: OTA MF9 is Out (apparently)

All of you Devs are probably onto this already...but I've been reading some buzz that the latest OTA MF9 is out for the Sprint S4. There is a ZIP of it that appears to be working...

Be careful though....some folks are saying that it locks the bootloader again...takes away root. In case anyone is curious and haven't seen it yet, here's the thread:

I think I'm going to wait it out, read up on folks experience with this rollout first, and wait till UF sinks his teeth into it a bit. UknownForce...I've LOVED your ROM, running 2.3 without a hitch/glitch. Figured I would shoot this out to everyone on this thread to keep up the momentum on this great ROM. Keep up the great work...when you can of course...I know you're busy. Cheers,

Definitely wouldn't take an OTA until it was deemed rootable by known methods.

I'm going to look into this update and see what's changed. hopefully they put out a tarball of it so that I can pull the modem and stuff from it, so that we can update without updating the bootloader.

This is a perfect time for this to come out though, Cause we're gonna move to 3.0 and might as well move to MF9 at the same time! ;)

But this naturally will set back the rollout of the 3.0 update a bit because I'm not going to waste my time building more on MDL when MF9 is out now.

You'll be interested to know I got AROMA working, but it's buggy... :( remember when TWRP was buggy touch-wise? Same kinda buggyness... Sensitivity is too high or the hover sensor is messing with it or something... I don't know... but it kinda sucks cause I am ready to release it, but seems wrong to release it like that... plus now that MF9 is out... no point in releasing it with MDL software... I'll update to MF9 first.

Love this Rom! Will 3.0 have option to install stock kernel. I think custom kernels have been causing reboots when on calls via BT when screen times-out. No problems with stock kernel.

Yes, that's one of the customization options if/when I include AROMA with it. I really want to, but with the touch being buggy... I really don't like it... Not sure if I want to put that on people just yet.

I know this Rom is mdl. But can I flash mf9 and still run this Rom okay? I should I wait to move to mf9 until the its mf9 rooms out?

No buddy you cant run this rom with the mf9 update only thing you can run is the mf9 modem if I was you I would wait until unknown updates the rom to mf9

The MF9 Modem will flash regardless of what rom you are on, it will update without any rom on there at all... It's completely separate from the ROM.

Keep in mind this doesn't give you any of the updates from MF9 like the camera updates or whatever else they've changed in MF9 software. This is ONLY the Modem update, nothing more, nothing less.

Ohh wow, u didn't know you had to mess with anything along those line. I mean, I k ow there's a s**T load of scripting to do. But im sure yours is gonna have to be a bit sophisticated than mine. Just need mine yo point to systrm/app, data/app, system/sdcard, ect, ect. Hopefully won't be too hard. That's great tho, glad you got it working. I'm sure you csn work the kinks out. I got just the guy to ask too. That's if ya need help. Lemme know!

    Bugs/Fixes
    - Stuck on Samsung Galaxy S4 splash screen - Directions to fix this
    - Screen Not turning back on/Random Reboots - This is an issue with KT's Kernel for some phones. Reflash and select a different Kernel.


    Install Instructions​


    This ROM includes AROMA installer. This gives you customizable options when you go to install the ROM.

    You will be prompted for 3 different Options to start: Default, Customize, and Change Mods

    The first option(Default) will install TriForceROM as it was intended to be used, with all the mods enabled. Much like the previous releases of TriForceROM.

    The second option(Customize) will allow you to pick and choose from the mods available. This is still a full wipe option.

    The third option(Change Mods) will allow you to do the same as the above, but will not wipe System or Data, so you can change mods/theme on the go without worrying about wiping your precious data! Simply re-flash the SAME ROM file and select Change Mods, select your new mods and let it flash!

    Default and Customize will wipe both Data and System, be sure you have a backup. You must do a full install before you're able to use the Change Mods out. (It won't let you until you are on TriForceROM.)

    Again, it will not wipe data or system when you select to Change Mods.

    As usual first boot takes a while because it has to rebuild data and cache.​

    I know it's been a while since I've been "seen" and that's not because I've been on vacation, lol, well it was for a little bit.. but mainly It's because my job has been extra busy lately and my internet connection at home has been having some major issues. I've been monitoring the thread and chiming in when It's necessary via my phone, but it's been a real pain in the arse dealing with this stupid Internet Service Provider. I'm not MIA or anything though, I'm still here. Just dealing with some other issues right now. I'll be back to getting an update out soon though, to address any major issues and get (hopefully) a few more mods or requests filled.

    Just letting everyone know not to worry, I'm still here!

    Don't take this the wrong way, I'm not being condescending at all. But, I do have a link on both my avatar and in my signature. But I'll add a link to the OP as well when I release 3.0, which will happen either late tonight or tomorrow.

    But on the donation topic... Just so everyone knows my stance here...

    I don't want to be considered someone that's flashing the "donate to me" all over the place... So I typically don't include a link or anything it in my threads. Because, to me, donations are supposed to be exactly that, donations. They aren't supposed to be a cost, a charge or "I'm doing great work, so you should donate..." To me, if you donate, you should donate out of your own free will, and not expect anything in return. It's like buying someone a beer at a bar/pub for doing something nice for you, or buying your friend a drink or a coffee because they helped you with something.

    I also don't believe in the "donator's list" thing... cause it doesn't do anyone any good... It makes people feel obligated to donate just to make their name on a meaningless list and make those that don't donate feel less important... It doesn't seem to accomplish anything in my opinion.

    I'm not here to make money, I have an 8-5 M-F Job that I hate for that, haha...

    With all of that said... give me all your moneys RIGHT MEOW! Haha, Juuust kidding!
