Question [Q] Question about amount of memory on SG3 I747

Hello, I have the latest stable build of CyanogenMod 10 on my Samsung Galaxy S3 i747 (AT&T) and its specs say it has 2GB of ram, but my phone is saying it only has 1590 MB of ram. Its a weird number so I was just wondering, is it the amount of ram available after what it needs to use to run the OS? Its not really a big deal and I love CM10 but its just something I've been wondering about and can't find anything about it.

Specs:
Galaxy S3 i747
Android 4.2.1
CM10 10.1-20130121
Kernel 3.0.57-cyanogenmod-gb1ea79a

Thanks in advance!

That number is about right. Even under the stock ROM if you look at Running apps (services) the total is around 1500 to 1600 MB. If I remember correctly the rest is reserved for the OS and other things.

Ahh, okay thanks. The phone still runs lightening fast so its all good. Cm10 is still a little buggy but the pros definitely out weigh the few cons.

I was told a good portion of that missing memory is reserved for video memory.
