When I got my HTC Mozart, I unlocked it with chevron. The firmware version was 7004 on a t-mobile branded rom.

After that I connected my phone to zune with flight mode on (easiest way to prevent relock) and updated it to 7008, and after that that to 7392.

Everything is working fine, I can deploy whatever I want to my phone, also with chevron I can only "relock", like ansar said.

UNLOCKING

I have been all over these threads trying to get the best and most out os my phone. I have finally got it unlocked. Not if someone can help explain how to keep it unlocked without having to use flight mode? My last attempt lasted the first update but the second update caused it to lock so had to downgrade back to 7004 and start over.

If it has to be done through the registry can someone please explaine the process I downloaded the latest registry editor found on TouchEperience : http://forum.touchxperience.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=593

Thanks in advance for all help very appreciated.

So what exactly did you do ansar? Just updating your phone via Zune to "NoDo" and it still was "chevroned"? Which phone did you use?

Maybe you can give us more details. I would also like to update my phone but i dont want to loose the advanced config app :D

Yes There Are...

Yes there are but with having an idea of what the end result of doing something wrong noobs like myself (to WP7) need a little spoon feeding when it comes to Registry changing.

I apologize if I am asking for a lot but I have always been one that if I understand something better than someone else I have no problem with breaking it down simpler. And maybe with understanding how to do this will also help me to understand how to do background changing which also only done through the register editor.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

The details for keeping your phone unlocked are in my sig. Follow instructions from "How To Keep Your Phone Unlocked" part 1 and 2. Once you have set these reg keys the phone will not relock with updates.

Hi,

Yes, in HD7 it was most easy and you can try this simple steps:

- Flash a 7004 branded ROM

- Setup e-mail account and send ChevronWP7.cer

- Install ChevronWP7.cer

- Install Application Deployment and optional Visual Studio 2010 express

- Run zune, sync and let pass all steps but not upgrade yet

- Run ChevronWP7.exe and unlock

- Relock and unlock as a test and stay unlock

- Deploy AdvanchedConfig 1.2.0.0 beta, to keep unlock

- Now let zune upgrade

- At the end you will have an 7008

- Run ChevronWP7.exe and check if it is unlock

- If not let me know

- If yes, let zune to upgrade 7392

- At the end you will have a working 7008 backup to return in case of emegency

- Run ChevronWP7.exe and check if it is unlock

Hi Ansar,

Thanks a whole lot I will do this now I do have one question. After this is done can you connect to another computer I recently got a new laptop (running windows 7) and it is what I have been doing these things with my phone now before I got the laptop I was using my computer (which run XP) last night I connected it to my computer to download my audio and pictures this morning it was back lock and I had it on airplane mode. Will I be limit to only connecting to my laptop or will the permnant unlock continue to keep it unlocked?

Does anyone have a direct link to the AdvanchedConfig 1.2.0.0 beta when I searched here all 3 results bring me back here and when I google it it takes me to TouchXperience site and the I only see versions 3.0; 3.1; 3.2; and 3.3.

Question in continuing to find Advanced Config I came across this:

How to sideload more than 10 apps ?

Unlock your device with a modded ChevronWP7 version: ChevronWP7_NoSideloadLimit.zip ( 83.27K ) Number of downloads: 26
Credits to xda user hounsell on http://www.red-gsm.net/t48485/

Is this better that the one I've been using?

Thanks in Advance

Hi,

You cannot use XP, at least Vista to any PC/Laptop

DL it from here: AdvancedConfig_1.2.0.0_beta.xap

This has more than you need to keep unlock, maximum apps etc

Are these apps/programs for the phone itself or for the computer? I put WPSupportTool-amd64.msi [64bit] in the search and got: Results for:"WPSupportTool-amd64.msi"
Sorry, no results were found. It may help to:

Okay I realized I wasn't searching Microsoft when I did choose it I still got the same results then google open up leading me to http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1021920 where the Windows Phone Support Tools can be downloaded. Now to find the Visual Studio. Which I am still a little confused because I thought your instructions these were things to install on the phone and if that is the case then what I'm doing is wrong and therefore I can't find the right things :(.

Okay I found it but again I am still confused becase you said: "Install Application Deployment and optional Visual Studio 2010 express" but what I have to my knowledge is not a XAP app.

    Hi,

The Guide is extremely detailed and now some are claiming it as huge or difficult?!

    There are different shortcuts:

    1. Quicksettings from schaps (native code => don´t work after mango update)
    2. Shortcuts from codejoker.com (Samsung specific, no native code => still working on Samsung devices)

All still working shortcuts for OMNIA 7 are attached.
