Brilliant. I figured that I'd have to limp along with what I assumed was a loose usb port until my next upgrade, and now (after a "for the hell of it" google search which led me here), while not quite "as new", it doesn't require jiggling, and most importantly, the cord isn't falling out. Thanks for the awesome tip.
