For 2 day shipping it is a fine price, but I have an issue that I can't choose cheaper / slower shipping.

I'm already annoyed w/ Google for getting rid of the SDcard (after I bought a 32GB card) then making it $200 for only an 8GB. I know it is as cheap as they could make it. But I'm not convinced it cost them $50 to insert an SD card with an extra 8GBs.

So now I have to pay $50 more than I was planning to. I don't want to end up actually paying $83 more than I was planning.

I was hoping to sell my NiB Transformer and buying the Nexus 7 and actually making some money, now I am lucky to break even, so every little bit helps.

Been reading articles all day about Google losing money on these tablets and are trying to make it back on play store purchases, which completely explains why they would not throw in the SD card slot.

If you don't like it get a GTab 2 with a micro sd slot, worse screen, worse processor and only 8 gb of space for $250!

upload your music to google play music you can upload 20,000 songs to it up to a maximum of 250mb per individual song... for your maps try shrinking down the area on google maps.. i downloaded 80 sq miles for 80mb (ha) so your maps are obviously too large or you're just BSing us. you can do this multiple times and still be no where near several GB for the size of a state.

And then rely on the cloud and wifi whenever you want to use it. Next!

Some of us have no desire to be corralled into the cloud. Mooooo!

I doubt it will come with the $25 play credit as well, but that's just speculation.

I forgot to mention that in my novel of a post, it certainly helps justify the price a bit more, but I still would have preferred 16GB for $225 without the $25 Play Store credit. And unlike most of us nerds, the average consumer probably won't immediately see the 8gb $50 difference as being too pricey since they seem to usually have less of an idea how much space that really is. Or they will look at the 16gb ipad, and the 32gb ipad for $100 more and consider it to be equal or just "the way things are".

I initially bought the 16GB version and then a few hours later I decided to buy the cover for it as well, but since it was separate, it was going to be another $10 to ship that! So I decided to call them with the 1-855-83NEXUS number, talked to a very nice and helpful rep named Justin, and said he would forward it to a specialist to cancel my order since he didnt have the authority to since a certain window of time had passed.
So I reordered the 16gb and the cover together, and the shipping for both was $14 total, so $10 savings! Anyway, after shipping and Indiana tax, it came to just a bit under $303.

Has your order showed cancelled on your order status page?
I called them to cancel my 16GB order yesterday and it still hasn't been shown to be cancelled =(
I went with the 8GB instead since I don't think I'll need that much space.

As for shipping, $14 for 2day is about right. And you're probably getting the Nexus 7 half a month before other retailers get theirs so you can just think of it as a get-it-early cost. The Gamestop page had the release date as 7/31/2012.

Before they pulled the page, if you read the description on the Gamestop website for the Nexus 7, it said you will get the $25 Play credit for activating an account on the tablet.

Actually mine in fact does not yet say its cancelled, when I get home later Ill probably give them another call to hopefully speed it up. But with all the preorders and everything they must be receiving I'm not all that surprised. But its my understanding they dont charge you until it has been shipped so thats why I went ahead and ordered it again with the cover. It was also yesterday that I cancelled mine.
I even told Justin that I didnt want to cancel my original order until I knew for sure they hadn't sold out. Only because last night at 4am there were a few minutes on both the cover and n7 pages where you couldnt order them, only enter your email address instead to be informed when they would get more.
As I expected, Justin had told me they were updating the site and he also assured me that there would be plenty of N7's to go around. :)

Wondering if it will come with the free goodies that google is offering too like the free movie and stuff.

This link answers that:
http://news.cnet.com/8301-1023_3-57463619-93/google-nexus-7-tablet-now-selling-through-gamestop/

Both Google and GameStop are throwing in a $25 credit good for any item in the Google Play store and some free content, including a copy of the movie "Transformers: Dark of the Moon."

Why does it say 'not available for in-store pickup' on the first checkout page? Their shipping rates look higher than Google.

best buy

I was in Best Buy today, and I am told they were briefed about the Nexus 7. They also moved tablets around to make room for it. They say expect mid July.

Awesome news.
Google is doing a good job of announcing a product, then making it available to the masses as soon as possible.

Galaxy Tab 7.7 really pissed me off, announced it like 6 months and then no news at all, then press event of it, but no release until 1 month later:mad:

You can also use a service like MyUS where you give them the money and they actually buy it for you then ship it to you. I assume there would be an extra cost associated with that.

The 7.7 is a casualty of the legal wrangling with crapple. Sammy seemed to forget about giving its premium 7 inch ics. The Fantastic hardware is crippled by tw and hc:-( And now jb is out. Not sure if I should move mine on. But the screen is ridiculously good.

Pre ordering outside the US

hi guys, i'm from chile and i really want to buy a Nexus 7 tablet, however, google seems to be declining any orders from non-usa credit cards (I use a VPN to access Google Play). Has any one of you ordered a tablet from outside the US or it's just a waste of time?

I know people here in Sweden who tried to order the Nexus 7 with services like Borderlinx, and it didn't work. Some still doesn't know, but for the ones that Google canceled the order for, they also got their Google Accounts suspended, which means that they are unable to buy anything from the Play store and such also.

So, I'd recommend not trying until you find a site that delviers worldwide.

Bought three 16gb units today, will be canceling my play store order tonight...

What good does this information do ANYONE? The topic says "The Other Places that sell the Nexus 7 thread" and you just say you picked up 3 units today. Where? Nobody really cares that you happened to get 3 of them.

Maybe if the topic was "how many Nexus 7's did you pick up today from an unknown to everyone else location", your comment would mean something. As it stands it's simply some random face on the internet standing on a box shouting "neenur neenur neenur! I got 3 today and you guys and gals couldn't even get one!"

It looks like staples removed the Nexus from their site. If you want to check stock go here http://sd.site88.net/. The item # is 949231.

Ok seems I HAVE to add my Question to this 90+ page thread... " Has anyone who ordered at JR.com got a device?" I wonder if they are shipping any at all.

Oh and no offence but this forum seems a bit OVER MODERATED. vs others. I do not really like having to read though 100 pages just to find the one post that has to do what what I need... it's not like we are saving tree's here... not everyone likes 10 threads with 10,000 posts because it looks "neat" on the screen.

Keep in mind that Gamestop isn't shipping till end of July.
