Hi guys..

I come from a HTC Inspire 4G... in order to root that one we had to flash a whole new rom (whether stock or not) to gain super user and SU rights...

I don't quite understand how the razr root works... does it simply add the few more files that we need (such as SU, busybox etc...) or it flashes a rom as well as the inspire?

ALSO how will I reverse it (unroot)?

Thanks guys... trying to get a hang of this amazing phone...

This root method(motofail) for Droid-4.(by Dan Rosenberg)

But our Razr(Motorola Korea Razr) is worked well.

My Razr was root impossible, while one month. :D

[Test Status]
65.3.106.XT910.SKT.en.KR
65.3.106.XT910.KT.en.KR
65.1.21.XT910.AsiaRetail.en03
651.167.20.xt910.retail.en.eu
651.150.1 retail.en.eu
XT912
(It seems that most of root work)

Please check with another Razr and write reply!

[Root - only windows]
1) Install USB Drivers
2) Download and Extract Package
3) Enable debugging on device. Settings -> Application -> Development -> Tick USB Debugging
4) Connect device to PC
5) execute run.bat (location for extract package)
6) Enter is begin root work. (approximately 2 times reboot)
Enjoy

[UnRoot]
DoomLords UnRoot method still works.

Tried the script, but doesn't seem to work on a RAZR with a broken root...

This root method(motofail) for Droid-4.(by Dan Rosenberg)
Good luck with Razr!!

Tried the script, but no luck....

I have a 65.1.40.XT910.AsiaRetail.en.03 RAZR that I bought in Taiwan. It's upgraded to 2.3.6 over OTA.

I should explain that I originally rooted using the "Batman" script on XDA. (Also installed Clockwork Mod Recovery and OTA ROOT protector).

then I unthinkingly allowed my phone to recevie the OTA upgrade to 1.3.6.
RESULT: No root, and always reboot into Clockwork Mod script. Can't UN-root (of course!) and can't RE-root. this is what happened when I used your script:

[*] Rebooting...

.......................................

After continuing, I check ROOT with Root Checker...NO root. :-(

I also attempted this approach....

adb shell
su
rm -r /system/app/Superuser.apk
rm -r /system/xbin/busybox
rm -r /system/bin/su

According to the response, Superuser.apk, busyox and /system/bin/su already don't exist. Arrrgghh!

The GOOD news is that my phone works fine, the 2.3.6 OTA is nice and I am not "bricked". But I want root! ;-)

Not sure what to do next. Can I re-root using clockwork Mod and some sort of file on my internal or external SD card?

Thanks for ANY help ANYONE can give a relative noob!
