Probably a battery saving feature. You could now enable 3G only, HSPA only or both. If you don't require higher speed at the expense of battery life, you could toggle 3G only mode.

PS: We need a better icon. I was too lazy to photoshop one. :D

:O :O:O i saw that on my friends s2 n in the screen there is sensitivity just select 10 and c wt happens dhiru :D cus on s2 i was able to select without touching the screen :D it was kind of like floating touch :D dont select 100 :p it decreases touch sensitivity :p

We can add more stuff like color tuning and touchscreen sensitivity as you have mentioned. They are related to the kernel. We can add those settings later on when we have a proper kernel to work on.

Dhiru, do you need someone to help with art?(just to help you out, lighten your load) I have someone in mind, he'll probably be glad to oblige:D

Cheers:)

@dhiru1602
I had already asked this in the Q&A thread, but no one answerd me, however I inderectly got the answer. I asked if the vibration is still weak as in CyanogenMod 7, but even if no one answered, I saw some user complaining about the low vibration, so I'm quite sure it's still weak (I didn't see any change in the code). May I ask you to add this information here? I think it's something important to know.

I also asked if the signal streght is lower than in a stock rom. When I used CyanogenMod 7 it was, I couldn't get anything better than -80dB if I remember correctly and I remember that in the battery use graph I'd never seen a green phone signal line (and this mean more battery use). Does anyone know the answer?

Thanks for your great work, I really appreciate it.

(I take the chance to ask you what do you think about this: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1650201, I know the problem is present in CyanogenMod too. But you don't have to answer to that :D)

Worth a shot. Are there any noticeable changes in the sensitivity? If possible, create a list of 5 different sensitivity values. I will add them to the device settings. ;)

Well, yes, the sensitivity can be changed a lot, but the default values are probably the best ones.

I tried different profiles, but I lost all of them. Here what I'm currently using
Code:
echo 7035 > /sys/touchscreen/set_touchscreen
echo 11002 > /sys/touchscreen/set_touchscreen
echo 13060 > /sys/touchscreen/set_touchscreen
cat /sys/touchscreen/set_write
This is actually one the of CF tweaks, I simply adapted it and slightly changed it. There's not so much difference, but I can feel it, maybe because I know what I changed and I pay more attentions to the little differences.

The problem is that I'm not using CyanogenMod, so I can't really test the profiles (when I used CM 7 the touchscreen seemed better, more reactive, so, maybe, instead of improving it, I make it worse).

You can start trying this one.

Maybe someone using CM can try different settings. I wrote here how to that, unfortunately there are no handy apps to do that, like this one: SGS Touchscreen Booster

Anyway I'll see what I can do.

Alpha 5 is out. Nothing major except for the Vibration settings. You will not have any missed calls in your pocket anymore :)

I have included testing fixes for Backlight issues. Please flash and let me know if you face any Backlight issues on Alpha 5.

@dhiru the change log for alpha 5 states that the audio drivers are updated. Does it improve the stutter problem?

Cheers:)

    CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.0 (ICS), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

    Code:
    #include <std_disclaimer.h>
    /*
     * Your warranty is now void.
     *
     * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
     * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
     * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
     * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
     * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
     */

    CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

    All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    * PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE TOPIC BEFORE FLASHING THE ROM.

    * REPORT BUGS IN THE TOPIC ONLY.
    * DON'T SEND ME PM MESSAGES ABOUT BUGS OR FEATURE REQUESTS.
    * ONLY REPORT THE BUGS IN CM9. I DON'T PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR OTHER ROMS. POST IN THEIR RESPECTIVE THREADS.
    * IF YOU ARE ON A CUSTOM KERNEL, FIRST CHECK WITH THE STOCK KERNEL AND THEN REPORT THE BUG.

    I am currently working on implementing a custom Audio HAL which would eliminate the use of Samsung Audio Libraries.

    The HAL is based on the Nexus S Audio and it has FM Radio "Support" Included which would be useful in the future. Currently the HAL works perfectly except for the Microphone in applications and frequent audio shuttering. If this issues are fixed, we could have an entirely opensource audio implementation.

    After hours of coding, Auto Focus and Touch to Focus works perfectly. :D

    Good news guys. Got the Still Image capture to work. It works pretty fine with 5MP setting and the picture quality is amazing. I need to test in the daylight to see how it works.

    The EXIF info is still not implemented and that would be a headache. I will see to what I could do about it.
