I'm currently on the MDC baseband. I would like to update to MF9 if possible so I am able to then update from stock rooted MF9 to the latest NAE to flash the newest roms. I've read a few threads and even watched a few videos. I'm able to do the rest myself, just unsure of how to go from MDC to MF9.

You can go straight to NAE with the NAE tar through Odin. That will install nae software, baseband, kernel, and bootlaoder.
