I got a secondhand Xperia T a couple of months ago. The phone was originally bought in 2012 in Ireland. The phone is now unlocked to any network.

Friday two weeks ago the phone stoped working. What happened was, the battery was on around 15%. By the time i got round to charging it it had gone flat. After plugging it into the wall charger for around half hour the solid red light was on indicating charging but the phone wouldnt turn on. I left it for a while but it was still the same. I notcied that when i pressed the unlock button the screen would slightly light up but no picture. the phone could recieve texts and calls but i couldnt see anything. I took it to my nearest phone specialist. He tried re installing the software but had no luck. He said it was bricked. I then gave it to my uncle who is usually nifty with these sorts of things. He also came back and said it was bricked. I then did some reading of my own and came across the advise to re install soft ware through pc companion. I did that and it said it was successful but the phone was still the same.

Last night i was following the repair thread on here (cant find link right now)

The problem i had was i didnt know witch stock ftf file i need to download or where to download from.

Can someone give me a link to an irish stock ftf and give me a quick run throuhg of how to fix

P.s. This is whats happening with the phone now:

When plugged into the wall charger I get a green light, that goes out after a few seconds then the changes to red and proceeds to charg normally.

Phone still vibrates, and receives calls.

When the on button and + or - vol are pressed it vibrates like its supposed to but then nothing happens

If it still receives calls and you've already used PCC to repair the software and it said successful then its clearly not bricked... I'd suggest start looking for a replacement screen.

and is it common for screens to just brake out of no where, without hitting or dropping the phone.?

I've had that happen to a laptop a few years ago. Came out of the wintery -10°C outside into the balmy 25°C of a friends home, 2 minutes later I took the laptop iut of the frozen bag and the temp shock was enough to crack the screen.

So yes, it's possible, but with shrinking screen size the probability of this decreases.

I don't know where you're from, but (winter) weather can be an electronics killer. Especially when the device is heating up rapidly after being brought out of the cold into a warm house or car. Rapid temp shifts can lead to cables moving out of their connectors, solder joints cracking and air moisture can condensate and move into delicate electronics

i live in ireland, it is probally 5'c at night in my house where the phone was and it wouldnt be much warmer in the car and then in work, so i dont see that being the problem, especially since it has been colder and had no effect on the phone

Well no its not common, but neither are bricked phones that receive calls, SMS and successfully take a software repair ;)

I stand by what I said but if you want to try flashtool take any stock rom you like just follow the guide. They all have all languages so I'd go for generic CE1 if you want unbranded and CE2 if you want Skyfall theme these are new 4.3 ones. You could even apply a older 4.1 and let it update from that if your region is even out yet.
