ok i have to admit im not sure why i paniced or howeverf you spell it but i guess i did because everyone was saying you couldnt revert to an older version unless you had been revolutionized before well thats incorrect i unboxed my brand new phone this morning turned it on let it do the new .9 update why i dont know just thought it would be ok ill repeat this phone has never been tampered with now after i couldnt root same issue as others i went ahead and did what other said wont work and reverted to 605.5 and it worked perfectly then i unlocked and rooted and all is good so just download 605.5 and hboot that thing i dont know why ive read over 50 people saying it wont work on 4 different sites but it works first time was a charm now im going back to skyraider and gonna flash this fancy new radio.

1. Reinstall 2.11.605.5 stock (no root). I got the file from Android Police. I had to rename the file as PG05IMG.zip and run it from the bootloader.

2. Obtain S-OFF with Revolutionary after 2.11.605.5 has installed. Do not install clockworkmod or super user yet.

3. Allow the 2.11.605.9 OTA to be installed. Let the phone do it's thing, the update took my phone awhile.

4. Install Clockwork Recovery (again rename it as PG05IMG.zip and run it from the bootloader)

5. Boot into bootloader again and select Recovery. Install superuser.

6. Reboot and enjoy.

PS. I stumbled upon this on another thread here.
Can anyone confirm this works alright?

None of the links the article seem to be active for 2.11.605.5 RUU. Is there another way I can acquire it?

You don't need to downgrade from 2.11.605.9 to 2.11.605.5 to root with Revolutionary.

I'm experiencing the same issue as the OP when trying to use Revolutionary. When I run revolutionary, this is what I get:

Code:
Zerging Root... this might take a minute or so.. Failed to get Root! :(
Based on what I have seen in this thread, downgrading to 2.11.605.5 is what I need to do. Fortunately, I got one of the links to work today do download 2.11.605.5.

If you say that is not necessary, what do I need to do in order to get Revolutionary to work?
