How do i upgrade my htc hero to android 2.3?

okay. i have used sphongle for 3 weeks but i'm not impressed with it. Zeam Launcher force closes and the menu scroll bar speed is to solw but the one i thing i like in this rom is Google Play Store opening speed.
Shpongle 3.7 is great, it's very recent and it's the fastest (2.3.7) rom out there for the HTC hero, on the other hand, it doesn't have as many features as Cronos, (for example: It's not multilanguage supported)
Cronos Ginger 2.4.0 is a popular (2.3.7) android rom, the last build was made in May 2012 (i think), but the project is still up for any possible update. I left cronos because it started to get laggy and buggy over the time. After like a month i couldn't open the Camera3D.apk at all.

have you tried Cronos Hero latest? its running really smooth for me with cpu at 672mhz. battery lasts 2 days with normal use11http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1276544&highlight=deckedx
